In the process of development,documentaries based on the principle of authenticity have experienced different stages such as real films,truth films and experimental films.However,no matter how film scholars define documentaries,authenticity is always the inviolable tenet of documentaries.However,with the innovation of technology,those old and obsolete views on documentaries have been changed.Our views are constantly being corrected and improved.Therefore,the judgment of whether the documentary is true or not is no longer simply a real representation of objective things.It’s based on multiple factors.First of all,the documentary requires the real representation of the subject,which is a kind of representation across time and space.The characters shown on the screen and the events that happen to them are actually projected into the past tense,even though they are in motion at the moment of filming.Although the contradiction between time and space has caused the non-real-time reality,it does not prevent the authenticity of the subject and the content of the image itself.This objective reality is not transferred by consciousness.Secondly,the true expression of documentaries depends on the physical nature of images and the expressive function of images.The camera USES the principle of keyhole imaging to maintain the appearance of the characters in the real space.This simulation of the real space and time promotes the recognition of the documentary’s sense of reality.In addition,the ideographic function of image symbols constitutes the emotional stitching function of audience for documentaries.Finally,the exploration of authenticity also lies in the subjective truth of images.Subjective reality makes images full of diversity in creation techniques and expressions.Both the recording of sounds,the selection of pictures and the selection of viewpoints in the real space by creative techniques are the feasible expression of subjective willingness to reproduce the real reality.The emergence of documentary film is accompanied by the pace of development,in the long history of development,how to reflect the real has been the biggest problem of documentary.With the development of science and technology,film and television performance means is also in constant innovation,today’s documentary on the mode of expression in addition to using traditional film and television of the technique is more attention to the use of science and technology,so the animation simulation effects,holographic projection technology,etc.,make the history ofancient and modern,Chinese and foreign in the technology of time and space under the action of moving.The diversity of approaches will inevitably affect the authenticity of documentaries while providing more sense of reality.However,this does not mean that the pursuit of authenticity requires the abandonment of new innovative ideas.Instead,the new approach can promote a new understanding of the authenticity of documentaries.Although there are still some controversies about the definition of documentary authenticity,the grasp and analysis of documentary authenticity in multiple dimensions are conducive to the study of documentary authenticity.From this point of view,through the documentary shows the real content,is conducive to the further exploration of the real phenomenon,documentary authenticity is the inheritance and continuation of the objective reality.The expression of truth in documentaries requires not only macro control but also micro judgment.
