| The research on fuzzy linguistics in China has gone through thirty years.Now,it has formed a relatively systematic research system and achieved fruitful results.Based on previous studies,this paper re-recognizes the meaning of fuzzy words and defines the definition of fuzzy category from the root causes of fuzzy words.Besides,this paper investigates different types of fuzzy meaning from different angles,analyzes the changing meaning of fuzzy as well as the factors that affect the changing.Finally,combined with teaching Chinese as a foreign language,this paper points out the difficulties that the fuzzy words bring to language acquisition and at the same time it makes teaching suggestions.This paper is divided into five parts:In the first part,the paper mainly introduces the origin of the research on the fuzzy phenomena,and summarizes the research results about the meaning of fuzzy words at home and abroad.In the second part,the paper starts from the origin of the fuzzy meaning,discusses the main source of fuzzy words:the objective world,the human cognition,the function of language.At the same time,the paper makes a distinction between fuzzy and generality,ambiguity,polysemy,implication,the phenomenon that the name and the thing which the name points is different due to the dialect and region,the polysemy of kinship appellation,and so on.In addition,this paper summarizes the conception of fuzzy words:fuzzy words have unclear boundary and range,they are in a both A and B state.The fuzziness of fuzzy words is not temporary and can not eliminate from the context.Based on previous classification of fuzzy words,in the third part the paper starts from the perspective of meaning,divides the fuzzy words into several kinds:object,action,character,quantity,adverb,demonstrative,and so on.Besides,it recognize fuzzy words from different angles by discussing the connotation and extension of fuzzy words,the relationship between hypernym/hyponym and fuzzy,fuzzy words and the concept of basic hierarchy,fuzzy words and synonymous/antisense field,subjective and objective of fuzzy words,the quantization of fuzzy words,and so on.The fourth part discusses the changing meaning of fuzzy words,mainly including the mutual transformation between precise meaning and fuzzy meaning,expanding and shrinking the range of fuzzy meaning and discusses the factors that influence the range of fuzzy meaning at the same time.The factors mainly include geography,age,individual,values and context.Based on the research of fuzzy words and second language acquisition theory,the fifth part sums up the problems that resulted from fuzzy words in the process of language acquisition.Then,it put forward some teaching suggestions from both teachers’ and students’ sides.At last,this paper discusses the enlightenment that fuzzy theory brings to teaching Chinese as a foreign language-the combination of precision and fuzziness. |
