Guangyun’s inherited from Qieyun.During the four hundred yeas followed by,as its phonology refining, its characters increasing, its annotations enriching,Guangyun possesses the functions of inspecting word meanings, identifying characters, and distinguishing ph onetics. For contemporary scholars,Guangyun is a connections of ancient Chinese phonology and dialects nowadays,as well as a library of middle Chinese characters and a treasury of Chinese exegetics materials.Since it has nearly 100 different kinds of versions, the researching and collating of Guangyun has become a special discipline. The scholar of Qing Dynasty,Zhang Shijun, emendated Guangyun. And his edition is most widely used by the later researchers. However,Zhang Shijun’s Guangyun is no longer the original version of Song dynasty.Perhaps due to material constraints, focus on Song’s version of Guangyun has always been inadequate. Our work this time,is just to do a little contribution to this field. we adopted Ningzong’s editon stored in Shanghai Library,Ningzong’s edition stored in Japan,Gaozong’s edition stored in Beijing Library,Northern Song Dynasty’s edition,Jinxiang edition, and Jusong’s edition stored in Japan. The first one is used as a text against which the other five editions can contrast. Many aspects of knowledge like textual bibliography, phonology, philology, the Chinese exegetic,Lexicology and.so on,are applied in the full range of inspection of the forth volume of Guangyun. In addition to the introduction, the thesis mainly include examination on phonology, checking all the characters, emendation of the annotations, and verifying lapsus on citing books and quotations.
