A Study On The Usage Of Internet Words

As internet becomes a very important part of our daily life,people use Internet Words not only in the Social Network Site,but also in daily communication and written language.From Social Network Site to written language,Internet Words becomes more and more formal.This thesis makes a study on the usage of Internet Words in the SNS,daily communication and written language,and finds out the reason and regulation of their formalization.Chapter One is the introduction.It summarizes present situation of Network Language Study,and explains the purpose,methods and materials of this thesis.Chapter Two makes a study on the usage of Internet Words in the SNS.It divides these words into three parts:Antiquated Words;Fixed Words;Emerging Words.Chapter Three investigates how and why people use Internet Words in their daily communication by questionnaires and case interview.Chapter Four discusses the usage of Internet Words on news media.It divides news media into two parts:modern media and traditional media.Chapter Five is the conclusion.It narrates the present situation and development tendency of Internet Words,and makes suggestions on how to use Internet Words.
