After the establishment of the Ming Dynasty, it and the Mongolia tribes in the north side is in confrontation in a long time, defending Mongolia tribes has been the core of the Ming Dynasty handle the relationship between the Ming Dynasty and Mongolia. Wang Yue as a general that garrisoned in the northwestern border, made an important contribution against Mongolia, and eased the border crisis of the mid-Ming to some extent. This paper explores the important role of Wang Yue in the northwest frontier in Chenghua and Hongzhi period, according to the record, collected works and historical notes. The paper is divided into three parts:the first part introduces the life of Wang Yue, sorts out the basic context of his political career; and then introduces the writings of Wang Yue. The second part discusses the main achievements Wang Yue worked in the northwest frontier, to study the measures control the northwest frontier. The last part is the evaluation of Wang Yue.
