| BackgroundLate-life depression(LLD)is one of the most common mental disorders in the elderly, which seriously threatens the physical and mental health of the elderly. The elderly because the organism is in a weak state,by all kinds of bad stimulation is more likely to lead to the occurrence of depression, its onset factors are more complex. At present, the clinical pathogenesis and influencing factors of depression are not clear, and the research on the impact of dietary nutrition on depression, especially in the elderly,is insufficient.Lipids are one of the important nutrients needed by the human body and are widely involved in the regulation of many life activities. In recent years, studies have suggested that elderly patients with depression may have abnormal fatty acid composition, but there is a lack of systematic studies on the difference of fatty acid composition, which needs to be further explored. Therefore,it is of great significance to study the influencing factors of elderly inpatients with depression, especially the influence of dietary nutrition on the occurrence of disease, and systematically analyze the difference of serum fatty acid composition between elderly inpatients with depression and non-depressed elderly,so as to prevent and cure elderly depression and improve the quality of life of the elderly.ObjectivesTo explore the related factors influencing the incidence of senile depression;Systematic analysis of the composition of peripheral blood fatty acids in elderly patients with depression in order to provide a theoretical basis for the prevention of the onset of elderly depression,at the same time for clinical elderly patients with depression to provide scientific experimental basis for the diet nursing,to prevent the potential health problems caused by unreasonable diet.Methods1.Using the convenience sampling method,a total of 202 elderly patients with depression who were newly hospitalized in a class A tertiary psychiatric hospital in Henan Province from August 2020 to September 2021 were selected as the observation group, while 177 non-depressed elderly patients matched with gender and age were selected as the control group. The general demographic characteristics, life style, health status and biochemical indexes were investigated by using the general situation questionnaire.2.Based on whether the study subjects had taken drugs affecting lipid metabolism in the last 8 weeks,30 elderly patients with depression who were newly admitted to hospital were selected as the observation group. While 30 cases of gender-and age-matched non-depressed elderly were selected as the control group.Blood samples were collected, and the determination of serum fatty acid composition and the four lipid items and other related laboratory indexes were examined by gas chromatography.3.SPSS 25.0 software was used for descriptive analysis, two independent samples t-test,u test,Chi-square test,Binary Logistic Analysis, and Spearman correlation analysis.Results1.Through comparative analysis of the two groups of general situation questionnaire,it shows that education level(OR=0.410,95%CI:0.231~0.729),eating fish, shrimp and crabs(OR=0.053,95%CI:0.017~0.166),soy products(OR=0.128,95%CI:0.029~0.559),fruits and vegetables(OR=0.256,95%CI:0.081~0.812),cholesterol(OR=59.977,95%CI:4.497~799.848),physical exercise frequency(OR=0.351,95%CI:0.193~0.641)are the influencing factors of depression in the elderly.Except cholesterol is a risk factor, the rest are protective factors.2.Compared with the non-depressed elderly, the contents of C16:0(t=3.128,P=0.003),C14:1(Z=-3.578,P<0.001),C16:1(Z=-2.661,P=0.008),C18:1(Z=-2.351,P=0.019)and C22:1(Z=-3.016,P=0.003)were higher in the elderly patients with depression, while the contents of C24:0,C18:3,C20:5(Z=-3.578,-4.302,-4.908,P<0.001),C22:0(Z=-2.661,P=0.008),C18:2(t=-2.051,P=0.045),total N-3 series polyunsaturated fatty acids(t=-2.941,P=0.005)and total very long chain saturated fatty acids(t=-2.840,P=0.006)were lower.3.C14:1(rs=0.378,P=0.040)in unsaturated fatty acids and C22:0(rs=0.420,P=0.021)in very long chain fatty acids and total very long chain saturated fatty acids(rs=0.576,P=0.001)were positively correlated with the severity of depression.Conclusions1.Dietary nutrition, education level, physical exercise frequency and so on are the influencing factors of the onset of senile depression.Balanced diet and reasonable exercise play a positive role in preventing senile depression.Meanwhile, health education of fatty acid nutritional knowledge should be strengthened in clinical nursing.2.Compared with the non-depressed elderly, there were differences in peripheral blood fatty acid composition in elderly patients with depression. Moreover, the composition of C14:1,C22:0 and total VLCSFAs in the serum of elderly patients with depression were correlated with the severity of depression. |
