Objective: To explore the characteristics of TCM syndrome type and its correlation with some risk factors in the elderly patients with essential hypertension, and to prevent and treat the clinical related diseases. Methods: Using the method of investigation and research,239 cases of elderly patients with primary hypertension and morning blood pressure surge over 65 years old were collected by TCM four diagnostic examinations combined with questionnaire survey and electronic medical records, including gender, age, course of hypertension, amount of smoking, blood lipid and other related information. The information of patients who met the inclusion criteria was statistically analyzed, and the corresponding conclusions were drawn,so as to explore the clinical significance Objective to explore the correlation between morning blood pressure surge in elderly patients with essential hypertension and TCM syndrome types, syndrome elements, gender, age, course of disease, smoking, blood glucose level, blood lipid level,etc.Results:1.119 male cases were included in this study, and the morning peak blood pressure was38.69 ± 2.091 mm Hg.120 female cases, and the morning peak blood pressure was 38.47 ±2.466 mm Hg;There was no significant difference after t test(P > 0.05)2.There were 31 cases of grade 1 hypertension,53 cases of grade 2 hypertension,and155 cases of grade 3 hypertension, with morning blood pressure surge of 38.61 ± 2.155 mm Hg,38.55 ± 2.181 mm Hg and 38.59 ± 2.357 mm Hg respectively. There was no significant difference among the three groups(P > 0.05)3.There were 211 cases aged 65-79 years old with morning blood pressure peak of38.87 ± 2.251 mm Hg,and 28 cases aged 80 years and above with morning blood pressure peak of 36.44 ± 1.088 mm Hg,which was statistically significant(P < 0.01);4.The morning blood pressure of 162 patients with 5-10 years of disease course was39.16 ± 2.108 mm Hg,and that of 77 patients with 11-20 years of disease course was 37.36 ±2.166 mm Hg,which was statistically significant(P < 0.01);5.The total amount of smoking in the past was calculated by using the years of smoking and the average daily amount of smoking. The goodness of fit between the total amount of smoking and morning blood pressure peak was good, with statistical significance(P < 0.01);6.In the cases of morning blood pressure surge, there were 99 cases of yin deficiency and yang hyperactivity syndrome, the morning blood pressure surge was 37.35 ± 0.987 mm Hg,70 cases of phlegm dampness syndrome, the morning blood pressure surge was39.93 ± 0.774 mm Hg,38 cases of liver fire hyperactivity syndrome, the morning blood pressure surge was 41.89 ± 1.656 mm Hg,32 cases of yin and yang deficiency syndrome, the morning blood pressure surge was 35.51 ± 0.500 mm Hg,the results were statistically significant(P < 0.01);7.In the distribution of TCM syndrome elements, the occurrence frequency of liver was the most,up to 192 times, followed by 155 times of kidney;the occurrence frequency of yin deficiency was the highest,up to 135 times, followed by 100 times of yang hyperactivity and 95 times of fire. The relationship between syndrome elements of disease nature, disease location and morning blood pressure peak was statistically significant(P <0.05);8.The morning blood pressure peaks of normal group and abnormal group were collected, and the results were statistically significant. The morning blood pressure peak was higher in the patients with higher Hb A1 c,triglyceride and low density lipoprotein, and higher in the patients with lower HDL,that is,the morning blood pressure peak was higher in the patients with abnormal biochemical indexes. Conclusion: There was no significant relationship between morning blood pressure surge and gender, blood pressure level, age and course of disease in elderly patients with essential hypertension;there were more patients with morning blood pressure surge of yin deficiency and yang hyperactivity syndrome and phlegm dampness hyperactivity syndrome;the morning blood pressure surge of liver fire hyperactivity syndrome was higher;the morning blood pressure surge of solid syndrome element was higher than that of deficiency syndrome element;the morning blood pressure surge of liver disease was higher;blood glucose and blood lipid were higher The morning peak of blood pressure in patients with abnormal blood pressure level was higher than that in patients with normal blood pressure index.
