Correlation Between Blood Pressure Level And Complications In Elderly Hypertensive Patients During The Epidemic Period Of Corona Virus Disease 2019

Objective: To investigate the changes of blood pressure and complications in elderly patients with hypertension during the epidemic period of Corona Virus Disease 2019.Methods: The elderly patients(over 65 years old)with hypertension as the first diagnosis in the geriatric department of Hebei General Hospital from January 23 to April 8,2020 were retrospectively collected as the observation group,and the elderly patients with hypertension from January 23 to April 8,2019 were selected as the control group.Results:1.Compared with the control group,the systolic blood pressure of the observation group [(168.79 ± 14.31)vs(162.27 ± 17.17)mm Hg] was higher,and the diastolic blood pressure of the observation group [(86.44 ± 11.40)vs(82.88 ± 10.85)mm Hg] was higher,the differences were statistically significant(all P < 0.05).During the epidemic period,the systolic blood pressure of elderly patients with hypertension increased by 6.5 mm Hg(1mm Hg = 0.133 k Pa,P < 0.05)and the diastolic blood pressure increased by3.5 mm Hg(P < 0.05).2.The patients with cerebrovascular disease and heart failure in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant.3.During the epidemic period,the incidence of complications in elderly hypertensive patients aged 65～74 years from high to low ranked as coronary heart disease,cerebrovascular disease,diabetes,heart failure and renal insufficiency;the incidence of complications in elderly hypertensive patients aged over 75 years from high to low ranked as cerebrovascular disease,coronary heart disease,diabetes,heart failure and renal insufficiency.Conclusions: During the epidemic period,due to the isolation measures and fear of infection,Geriatric inpatients showed higher blood pressure levels and changes of complications,especially the systolic blood pressure,and cerebro-vascular disease is more prominent among various complications.During the epidemic period,the blood pressure changes of the elderly should be strictly controlled,and the occurrence and aggravation of complications should be vigilant.
