Analysis Of Clinical Characteristics Of 127 Patients With Corona Virus Disease 2019(COVID-19)

Objective:The clinical data of 127 COVID-19 patients were retrospectively analyzed.At the same time,the clinical differences between mild,moderate and severe type were compared,providing a reference basis for clinicians’ early diagnosis and treatment,and it is helpful to reduce the infection rate,mortality and patient prognosis of patients.Methods:Clinical,laboratory,radiology,and treatment data of 127 hospitalized patients with confirmed COVID-19 were retrospectively collected.The population was stratified by disease severity as mild,moderate,or severe,based on guidelines of the National Health and Medical Commission of China.There were 21 cases,95 cases and 11 cases respectively.Moreover,the differences in clinical data between the three groups of patients were compared.Results:127 hospitalized COVID-19 patients were studied.The average age was 40.25 years old,and there were 80 cases(60%)of men.There were 94 patients with a history of residence(Wuhan,Moscow),and the underlying diseases were hypertension(10.2%)and diabetes(6.3%).All patients had no history of viral hepatitis.The average number of days of onset before admission was 2.96 days.The most common clinical symptoms before admission were fever(33.9%),cough(44.1%)and sore throat(41.7%).The median of white blood cell(WBC)in serological data was5.39×10^9/L,the median of absolute lymphocyte(LY#)was 1.66×10^9/L,the median of lactate dehydrogenase(LDH)was 162U/L,the median of C-reactive protein(CRP)was 2.1g/L,and the median of troponin(c Tn I)was 0.13 ng/m L.The imaging performance was mainly divided into no pneumonia(18.1%),unilateral ground glass opacity(GGO)(33.1%),bilateral ground glass shadow(48.8%),and ground glass shadow combined with consolidation(16.5%)).The treatment was divided into oxygen therapy support therapy and hormone drug therapy.44 patients(34.6%)received oxygen therapy,and 40 patients(31.5%)received hormone symptomatic treatment.Comparing all the clinical data of the three groups,it was found that in general data,the differences in age,number of days before admission,underlying diseases,symptoms such as fever,chest tightness and shortness of breath,cough and runny nose were statistically significant between the three groups(p<0.05).In the serological data,the white blood cell count increased,the lymphocyte count decreased,and the increase of C-reactive protein,lactate dehydrogenase,and troponin were statistically significant(p<0.0167).In imaging findings,severe patients were more likely to invade both lungs than the other two groups(p=0.000).In terms of treatment,more severe patients choose oxygen therapy and hormone therapy than the other two groups,which was statistically significant(p=0.000).After analyzing the correlation between general information(age,hypertension,and days of onset before admission)and treatment methods(oxygen therapy and hormone therapy),and classification,we found that they are all strongly positive with the classification correlation(p<0.05,r>0.5).The correlation analysis between C-reactive protein,lactate dehydrogenase,lymphocyte count,troponin and white blood cell count in serological data showed that the lymphocyte count is negatively correlated with all other indicators.Troponin,C-reactive protein,lactate dehydrogenase and white blood cell are all strongly positively correlated(p<0.05,r>0.5).Conclusion:1.COVID-19 patients are more common in male patients.The elderly patients with underlying diseases and delayed admission to the hospital are in serious condition.2.The lymphocyte count,white blood cells,C-reactive protein,lactate dehydrogenase and troponin of patients with COVID-19 are related to the severity of the disease.3.The imaging of patients with new coronavirus has characteristic changes and can be used as an auxiliary diagnostic method for COVID-19.4.In terms of treatment,especially for patients with a tendency to be critically ill,severe patients,and critically ill patients,oxygen therapy and hormone therapy can be given to improve the patient’s condition and prognosis.
