| Objective: To detect the serum levels of 8-OHd G and SOD in patients with ulcerative colitis, and analyze whether the expression levels of 8-OHd G and SOD are correlated with the severity of the disease, which is helpful to understand the mechanism of the disease, and is crucial for the early diagnosis and treatment of the disease, evaluation of the severity of the disease and understanding of the prognosis. Methods: A total of 63 patients who met the inclusion criteria and30 healthy subjects were collected from the First Affiliated Hospital of Hebei North University from May 20 to January 20.Blood samples were collected on an fasting basis the next morning, and the blood routine and erythrocyte sedimentation rate of the enrolled patients were detected respectively. The enrolled patients were grouped according to the improved True Move and Witts score. The serum levels of 8-OHDG and SOD in ulcerative colitis group were determined by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay and colorimetry,respectively.SPSS20.0statistical software was used to analyze the data. Results :(1)There was no significant difference in the course of UC between the three groups in terms of gender and age(P>0.05).(2)Serum8-OHd G was significantly increased and SOD was significantly decreased in the two groups with UC,and there were significant differences between the two groups and the healthy group(P<0.05).Moreover,there was also statistical significance between the two groups(P<0.05).Further analysis of the correlation between serum 8-OHd G and SOD showed a moderate correlation between the two,and the correlation coefficient r=-0.437(P<0.05).(3)The following factors including age, course of disease, serum 8-OHd G and SOD level were included in the Logistic regression model, and it was concluded that serum 8-OHd G and SOD were related to the severity of patients’ disease(OR value was 2.317 and 0.603,respectively,P<0.05).(4)Serum 8-OHd G and SOD levels were used to evaluate the severity of ulcerative colitis, and ROC curve was plotted. The AUC of serum 8-OHd G was 0.821,95%CI was 72-93%,P=0.000,and the AUC of serum SOD was 0.792,95%CI was 67-91%,P=0.000.Conclusion :(1)Serum 8-OHDG and SOD were significantly increased and decreased in patients with ulcerative colitis, suggesting that oxidative stress is closely related to the occurrence and development of ulcerative colitis.(2)Serum 8-OHDG and SOD expression levels were correlated with the severity of the disease. When the disease progressed, they changed dynamically, which could be used to evaluate the severity of the disease.(3)At the same time, there was also a correlation between serum 8-OHDG and SOD,and the ROC curve of the two was plotted, suggesting that both of them had high diagnostic value for the severity of UC,which was very important for monitoring the progression of the disease, guiding the treatment and evaluating the treatment effect of the disease. |
