Objective:To analyze the early physical growth and development of preterm infants with small gestational age(SGA)after birth, and to explore the factors affecting the growth and development of preterm infants. Methods:A total of 72 cases of premature SGA who were hospitalized in the neonatal ward of Shanxi Bethune Hospital from June 2015 to September 2019 and followed up regularly after discharge were selected as the research subjects.Body weight, body length and head circumference were collected for 40 ± 3 weeks of gestational age,3 ± 1.5 months of gestational age,and 6 ± 1.5 months of age.The physical growth was evaluated by Z-score method.Catch-up growth was defined as Z-value compared with birth time difference of 0.67.According to the adjusted gestational age of 40±3 weeks, adjusted gestational age of 3±1.5 months, adjusted gestational age of 6±1.5 months with or without catch-up growth, they were divided into catch-up growth group and no catch-up growth group. The factors affecting catch-up growth at each stage were analyzed by comparison between groups.Results:Catch-up weight growth was observed in 40(55.5%)patients adjusted for gestational age of 40±3 weeks.Single factor analysis showed that when adjusted for gestational age of 40±3 weeks, there were no significant differences in gestational age at birth, maternal age, parental height, time to start gastrointestinal feeding, and time to reach total gastrointestinal feeding(P>0.05).Adjusted age of 3±1.5 months and adjusted age of 6 ± 1.5 months were compared between the catch-up growth group and the non-catch-up growth group, maternal age, starting time of gastrointestinal feeding and early feeding intolerance were correlated with catch-up growth, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:In this study, there was catch-up growth in preterm infants with small gestational age after birth, and the age of gestational mother, the beginning time of gastrointestinal feeding, and early feeding intolerance may be related to catch-up growth. |
