Objective:To investigate the efficacy and safety of high-power short-duration(HPSD)ablation in the treatment of atrial fibrillation. Methods:Retrospective analysis was performed on patients who underwent radiofrequency ablation of atrial fibrillation in the First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University from January2019 to July 2020.The patients were divided into two groups with 45 patients in each group. The first group was treated with high-power short-duration radiofrequency ablation mode, and the second group was treated with conventional power ablation mode. The ablation power of the high-power group was 45 W,and the conventional power group was 35 W,and the same AI value guided the ablation.(front wall 480,bottom wall 450,top 400,rear wall380).The end point of ablation was bilateral pulmonary vein isolation(PVI),and linear ablation, fragmentation potential ablation near the vestibular or valve annulus or matrix ablation when necessary. The operative time, ablation time, ablation numbers, success rate of pulmonary vein isolation, incidence of complications and surgery success rate of the two groups were compared. Results:There was no significant difference in baseline data between the two groups(P> 0.05).In patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, the operative time in the high-power group was significantly shortened(227.4±39.0min vs 237.8±44.0min,P < 0.001).The ablation time was significantly shortened(1330.7±337.9s vs 1678.5±335.9s,P < 0.001).In patients with persistent atrial fibrillation, the high power group significantly shortened the operative time(238.8±21.3min vs 259.0±37.7min,P < 0.001)and the frequency ablation time(1679.7±310.1s vs 2267.2±549.5s,P < 0.001).There were no significant differences in ablation points, complications, and long-term success rate between the two groups(P > 0.05).Conclusion:(1)Compared with conventional power ablation,high-power short-range ablation significantly shortened the operative time and ablation time.(2)Compared with conventional power ablation,high-power short-range ablation did not increase surgical complications.(3)Compared with conventional power ablation,high-power short-range ablation has no effect on the success rate of surgery.
