Objective: To investigate the relationship between IL-17,EOS,and NE in nasal secretions of allergic rhinitis(AR)and their correlation with symptom scores,so as to understand the relationship between these three factors and the illness severity of AR patients and it’s clinical significance, while exploring the interaction between IL-17 and EOS,NE.Methods: Fifty patients, who were admitted to the otolaryngology head and neck surgery department of Schuan provincial People’s hospital from July 2020 to February 2021 and were diagnosed with AR,were selected as the case groups. The AR patients were diagnosised according The Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Allergic Rhinitis(2015,Tianjin).Fifty-one healthy subjects, who received physical examination in the health management center of ourhospital during the same period, were selected as the control group.Nasal secretions of patients and healthy were obtained from outpatient treatment room and physical examination clinic for smear count of eosinophils and neutrophils.Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)was used to measure the content of IL-17 in nasal secretions.Evaluating AR patients’ subjecive illness severity by scoring the symptoms of nasal obstruction, rhinocnesmus, sneezing and runny nose according to the quartering method, and geting the total nasal symptoms score by summing up the four symptoms’ scores.Compareing the levels of IL-17,EOS and NE in nasal secretion between the two groups. To analysis the relationship between IL-17 level,EOS count,NE count in nasal secretion and symptom score of AR patients, and the relationship between IL-17 level and EOS count,NE count.SPSS 25.0 softwarew as used to analyze the obtained data.Results:1.IL-17 was detected in the nasal secretions of patients in the experimental group and volunteers in the control group, and the level of IL-17 in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).2.EOS and NE were found in nasal secretion smears of patients in the experimental group, while NE was occasionally found in nasal secretion smears of volunteers in the control group.EOS was detected in nasal secretion smears of individual volunteers in the control group, and EOS count and NE count in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).3.TNSS in the experimental group was significantly positively correlated with IL-17 level and EOS count in nasal secretions(P<0.05).There was no correlation between TNSS and NE count in nasal secretions in experimental group(P>0.05).4.In the nasal secretion of patients in the experimental group,IL-17 level was significantly positively correlated with EOS count(P<0.05);IL-17 level was significantly positively correlated with NE count(P<0.05);EOS count was not correlated with NE count(P>0.05).Conclusion:1.The levels of IL-17,EOS and NE in nasal secretion of AR patients were significantly higher than those of healthy people.2.The level of IL-17 in nasal secretions of AR patients was significantly correlated with EOS and NE counts, and IL-17 may promote the aggregation of EOS and NE in the occurrence and development of AR.3.The levels of IL-17 and EOS in nasal secretions of AR patients were positively correlated with TNSS.The contents of IL-17 and EOS in nasal secretion can be used as objective indicators to help evaluating the illness severity of AR patients.
