Objective: To explore HMGB1 in the pathogenesis play role of high altitude polycythemia,by studying the expression of HMGB1 in the plasma of high altitude polycythemia patients and its relationship with angiogenesis, and to provide scientific basis and new ideas for diagnosis and treatment.Method: HAPC group included 24 male patients admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Qinghai University who were diagnosed with plateau polycythemia(HAPC).The control group selected 24 healthy males from the physical examination center.Expression of the amount of HMGB1 and VEGF-A molecular proteins in the plasma of subjects were detected by ELISA and compared, and the general clinical data of HAPC patients and healthy control group were collected.Result: Express the amount of HMGB1 factor in HAPC group(6780.33±2752.29pg/ml)was markedly higher than that in control group(3844.03±1307.48 pg/ml),and Express the amount of VEGF-A in HAPC group(82.33±24.72 pg/ml)was obviously higher than that in control group(38.70±13.50pg/ml).The difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).Between HMGB1 and VEGF-a was no marked correlation(r=0.124,P>0.05).Conclusion: 1.HMGB1 factor is involved in the pathogenesis of HAPC.2.HMGB1 is A pro-angiogenic factor located in the upstream of VEGF-A,which synergically promotes angiogenesis and may be involved in the pathophysiological process of HAPC angiogenesis.
