| Health is the prerequisite for people’s good life,the foundation of social and economic development,and an important guarantee for human progress.The Fifth Plenary Session of the 18 th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China formulated the "Healthy China 2030" Planning Strategy,putting people’s health as a strategic priority for development;the report of the 19 th National Congress put forward the "Implementation of a Healthy China Strategy" to provide the people with all-round full-cycle health Services;In June 2019,the National Health Commission also formulated the development strategy of the "Healthy China Action(2019-2030)" to promote the transition from focusing on treating diseases to focusing on people’s health.With rapid progress in economy,education,medical care,and technology,the health of residents has continued to improve,and the happiness index has risen significantly.However,the aging of the population is serious,and the health of the elderly is worthy of attention.At the same time,middle-aged people after the age of 45 begin to enter the aging stage,showing pre-aged features such as organ decline and functional decline.It is worth noting that the middle-aged and elderly people are the focus of attention on the road to improving the overall health of residents and raising the happiness index,and they are also typical groups that induce health inequality due to uneven regional economic development.First,this article sorts out the related concepts and measurement methods of health and health inequality in the existing literature,summarizes the factors that affect health,and sorts out human capital theory and health demand theory as the theoretical basis of the research;secondly,from the perspective of urban and rural areas and age A hierarchical perspective analyzes the income status and health inequality of the middle-aged and elderly groups;again,based on the binary Probit model,with income as the independent variable,education,gender,urban and rural areas,and age as the control variables,a regression analysis of self-rated health is performed and used The concentration index measures and decomposes the degree of health inequality in China’s middle-aged and elderly groups from urban and rural areas and age stratification,and explores the contribution of various influencing factors to health inequality.The results show that,first,the health advantage of middle-aged and elderly groups in China tends to be high Income earners;second,the household’s per capita disposable income is an important factor affecting residents’ health inequality;third,the impact of education on the health inequality of middle-aged and elderly people cannot be ignored;fourth,the degree of health inequality among different age groups Its performance is different.Fifth,urban and rural factors have a greater contribution to the health inequality of people aged 70 and above.Finally,based on the conclusions drawn from the empirical results,this article proposes several policy recommendations for reducing health inequality. |
