Abstract/Summary:
As a channel to convey AIDS prevention and control policies to the public, the mass media not only plays an important role in helping the public correctly understand and recognize AIDS prevention and control policies, but also has an important impact on the self-development and improvement of AIDS prevention and control policies. Therefore,it is necessary to explore the role of media in the process of AIDS prevention and control policy transmission,in order to better understand the role of media in policy transmission. This study constructs the coding table from the following dimensions: the length of the report, the layout of the report, the source of the report, the type of the policy report, the policy theme involved in the report, the special population involved in the report, and the policy process involved in the report, and takes the people’s Daily’s HIV / AIDS policy report for 35 years as a sample to analyze the specific text of the report.Through the analysis,it is found that the realistic policy agenda has an important impact on the content of media attention, and promotes the media’s attention to AIDS policy to show obvious stage characteristics.Firstly, there are differences in the number, length and sources of media reports on AIDS policy;Secondly, different policy communication topics are presented in different ways; Finally,it shows the change of media’s diachronic reporting on the same theme policy.Although media coverage of AIDS policy has gradually focused on the whole process of policy, and from the shallow level of policy communication to the deep level of policy communication, there are still some problems in media coverage, such as over reliance on government information sources, limited interpretation of policy reports and so on.Based on this, this study believes that the media should fully recognize the dominant position of the public in the spread of AIDS policy, and the spread should be more immediate and effective,so as to better play its role in the spread of AIDS policy.
