| Objective:Colorectal cancer(CRC)is one of the most common malignant tumors in the world.The research report showed that the number of new colorectal cancers accounted for 10.2% of all new malignant tumors,its incidence ranking third around the world in 2018.In 2019,the National Cancer Center report showed that new colorectal cancers accounts for 9.88% of all new malignant tumors,its incidence ranking third.At the same time,becauce the oncogene Cerb B-2 can inhibit tumor cell apoptosis and promote neovascularization in tumors,it is expressed in many malignant tumors.In addition,with the in-depth study of colorectal cancer,it has been found that there are differences in the pathogenesis and biological behavior of left and right colon cancers,colon cancer and rectal cancer also have different biological behaviors.Thus,the purpose of this study is to investigate the expression and significance of Cerb B-2 in left and right colon and rectal cancer.The result of this study can provide reference value for diagnosis,treatment and prognosis of colorectal cancer.Methods:A total of 3818 patients with colorectal cancer who underwent radical resection of colorectal cancer and were diagnosed by Pathological Center in Ning Bo from January 2014 to December 2019 were collected,meanwhile,the detailed clinical data of the patients were obtained.The specimens of patients were tested for immunohistochemistry(IHC)to detect Cerb B-2expression level.The Cerb B-2 expression levels are divided into 4 levels according to international standards: Cerb B-2(-),Cerb B-2(+),Cerb B-2(++),and Cerb B-2(+++).SPSS 17.0 was used to retrospective study,analyze the expression and significance of Cerb B-2 in left and right colon and rectal cancer.Results:1.The Cerb B-2 positive rate of 3818 colorectal cancer patients who are in Ning Bo city was 21.0%,of which the low expression(+)was 17.9% and the high expression(++,+++)was3.1 %.2.There were 23.1% of left colon cancer,20.7% of right colon cancer,and 56.3% of rectal cancer.In left colon cancer,Cerb B-2 expression(-)was 79.6%,Cerb B-2 expression(+)was 17.5%,Cerb B-2 expression(++)was 1.7%,Cerb B-2 expression(+++)was 1.2%.In right colon cancer,Cerb B-2 expression(-)was 78.5%,Cerb B-2 expression(+)was 18.6%,Cerb B-2 expression(++)was 2.4%,and Cerb B-2 expression(+++)was 0.5%.In rectal cancer,Cerb B-2 expression(-)was79.0%,Cerb B-2 expression(+)was 17.8%,Cerb B-2 expression(++)was 1.9%,and Cerb B-2expression(+++)was 1.3%.3.Chi-square analysis showed that Cerb B-2 expression levels in colorectal cancer were statistically different from patients’ gender,number of lymph node metastases,presence or absence of distant metastases,and TNM stage(P<0.05),there were no statistical difference in age,presence or absence of neurovascular invasion,depth of invasion,distant metastatic organs(tissue),tumor differentiation,location,size,and classification(P>0.05).Further multivariate linear regression analysis for those who have statistical differences in the Chi-square test,it showed that the expression of Cerb B-2 in colorectal cancer were statistically different from the number of lymph node metastases and the presence or absence of distant metastases(P <0.05),there were no statistical difference with the patient’s gender and TNM stage(P>0.05).4.Chi-square analysis showed that tumor site(left and right-side colon,rectum)were statistically different from patient’s gender,number of lymph node metastases,distant metastasis organs(tissue),tumor size,differentiation,depth of invasion and stage(P<0.05);there is no statistical difference in age,presence or absence of neurovascular involvement,presence or absence of distant metastases and tumor classification(P>0.05).5.Kaplan-Meier survival analysis showed that there is no statistical difference between the different expression levels of Cerb B-2with prognosis(P>0.05).Conclusions: The study about 3,818 patients with colorectal cancer shows that the expression level of Cerb B-2 has a certain relationship with the pathological characteristics of patients,is one of the foctor of poor prognosis to colorectal cancer patients;there is also a certain correlation between the colorectal cancer in different anatomical locations and pathological characteristics of patients.Thus,what have important clinical guiding significance for us to evaluate the patient’s condition,prognosis and determine the next treatment plan is that the Cerb B-2 expression and the tumor location in colorectum. |
