| Objective:With the development of the times and the advancement of technology, smart phones are becoming more and more popular. The use of mobile phones among middle school students is also very common.According to related research, middle school students have certain sleep problems. This study aims to understand the relationship between the use of mobile phones by middle school students and sleep patterns of middle school students,to evaluate the impact of mobile phone use on sleep patterns of middle school students through daily rhythm, daytime sleepiness, sleep habits, etc.,and to change the sleep of middle school students Model to promote the healthy development of middle school students.Method:From March to May 2019,the middle school students in four middle schools in Ningbo City,Zhejiang Province adopted a stratified cluster random sampling method to conduct a questionnaire survey. The contents of the survey are: sleep habits questionnaire, sociodemographic data,Chinese version of the morning and night scales(MEQ-5),mobile phone use questionnaire,Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index Scale(PSQI)and Epworth Worth Sleep Scale(ESS).Use Epi Data 3.0software to input data,SPSS 24.0 for statistical analysis, statistical analysis methods include descriptive statistics, normality test, rank sum test,χ2 test, analysis of variance,Spearman correlation analysis.Result:A total of 2846 questionnaires were distributed and 2846 were recovered.A total of 2689 valid questionnaires were obtained with an effective recovery rate of 94.48%.Differences in gender, age, time to go to bed and wake up on school days, time to go to bed and wake up on weekends, and time to go to bed in winter and summer vacation were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the wake-up time of each grade in winter and summer vacations(P> 0.05).Students of different grades have significant differences in six aspects: sleep quality, time to fall asleep, sleep time, sleep efficiency, hypnotic drugs, and daytime function. The PSQI scores of different grades are statistically different, showing that as grades increase, the scores increase significantly.Mobile phone use time was statistically different in sleep quality, time to fall asleep, sleep time, sleep efficiency, hypnotic drugs and daytime dysfunction scores(P <0.001).The difference in sleep quality between different monthly phone bills and mobile phone needs is statistically significant(P <0.05);the difference in sleep time between different mobile phone demands is statistically significant(P <0.05);different monthly living expenses levels, monthly phone bill levels,Differences in sleep time, sleep efficiency, and drug hypnosis were statistically significant among students with different mobile phone needs(P <0.05);students with different monthly phone bill levels and different mobile phone needs had sleep disorders, daytime dysfunction, and total PSQI scores The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Cell phone usage time was positively correlated with sleep quality, time to fall asleep, sleep time, sleep efficiency, daytime dysfunction, and total PSQI score(P <0.01).Monthly living cost was positively correlated with sleep time, sleep efficiency, and hypnotic drugs(P <0.05).Monthly phone bill was positively correlated with sleep time, sleep efficiency, hypnotic drugs, daytime dysfunction and total PSQI score(P <0.05).Demand for mobile phones is negatively correlated with sleep quality, time to fall asleep, sleep time, hypnotic drugs, daytime dysfunction, and total PSQI score. There were significant differences in the birthday rhythm performance of middle school in different grades(χ2 = 28.6,P <0.001).There was a significant difference between mobile phone use time and daily rhythm performance(χ2 = 29.75,P <0.05),but the correlation was not statistically significant(P> 0.05).There was a significant difference between the student’s daily rhythm performance and mobile phone demand(χ2 = 29.94,P <0.05),and there was a positive correlation between the two(r = 0.05).Sleep quality, sleep efficiency, hypnotic drugs, and total PSQI score were negatively correlated with daily rhythm performance.Differences in sleep quality, time to fall asleep, sleep time, sleep disorders, drug hypnosis, daytime dysfunction, and total PSQI scores for students with different levels of sleepiness were statistically significant(P<0.05).The daytime sleepiness of students and the total score of ESS are related to cell phone usage time, monthly living expenses, monthly phone bills and cell phone demand. The daytime sleepiness of students is positively correlated with cell phone usage time, monthly living expenses, monthly phone bills, and cell phone demand.Conclusion:(1)It is common for middle school students to use mobile phones. There is a phenomenon of sleep compensation in middle school students, which may be related to the use of mobile phones.(2)The grade of middle school students is related to sleep, and the quality of sleep will decline as the grade increases.Girls are more prone to sleep problems than boys.(3)With the increase in mobile phone usage time, mobile phone demand, monthly living expenses, and monthly phone bills, the trend of impact on sleep has increased, increasing the risk of sleep disorders.(4)Sleepiness during secondary school birthday is positively correlated with middle school students’ cell phone usage time, monthly living expenses, monthly phone bills, and cell phone demand. The more frequently students use mobile phones, the worse the daytime sleepiness. The higher the demand for mobile phones among middle school students, the daily rhythm shows a tendency towards night. The birthday rhythm in middle school tends to be night-type,and its sleep quality shows a downward trend. |
