ObjectiveChrysanthemum indicum L.,also known as nuejicao,kuyi,lubianhuang,which belongs to the family of Compositae.It grows in hillside grassland,shrub,riverside,coastal saline land,field side and roadside.It is widely distributed in China,India,Japan and Korea,with extremely rich wild resources.C.indicum is a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine,its stem,leaf,inflorescence and whole grass can be used as medicine.It has widely biological activity,such as anti-inflammatory,anti-oxidation,liver-protective effects,anti-bacterial action.The subject mainly studies on the chemical constituents of C.indicum,aiming to find more new structure and more active terpenoids,which lays the material foundation for further researches.MethodsUsing a variety of column chromatographic technologies,such as the silica gel column,MCI column,ODS column,Sephadex LH-20,semi-preparative HPLC and preparative HPLC,compounds were isolated from the 95%ethanol extract of C.indicum.The structures were determined based on the data,such as mass spectrometry,nuclear magnetic,infrared,ultraviolet,and optical rotation.Results36 compounds were isolated from the rhizome of C.indicum.Their structures were elucidated as Chrysanolide J(CI-1),8-senecioylchrysanolide D(CI-2),chrysanolide C(CI-3),8-tigloylchrysanolide D(CI-4),handelin(CI-5),8-angeloyl-2-methoxy-10-hydroxy-3,11(13)-guaiadien(CI-6),cumambrin A(CI-7),8-angeloylcumambrin B(CI-8),cumambrin B(CI-9),8-acetylrupicolin B(CI-10),8-deoxycumambrin B(CI-11),artemisolide(CI-12),(-)-clovane-2,9-diol(CI-13),cary olane-1β,9β-diol(CI-14),canusesnol E(CI-15),4α-hydroxy-4β-methldihydrocostol(CI-16),ligucyperonol(CI-17),Chrysindin D(CI-18),(3R*,4R*,5S*,Z)-2-(Hexa-2,4-diyn-1-ylidene)-1,6-dioxaspiro-[4.5]decane3,4-diol(CI-19),(-)-(3S*,4S*,5R*)-2-(Hexa-2,4-diynylidene)-1,6-dioxaspiro-[4.5]decane(CI-20),jaceosidin(CI-21),apigenin(CI-22),evofolin B(CI-23),alternariol(CI-24),tubakialactone A(CI-25),5-methyl-Tubakialactone A(CI-26),7-ketositosterol(CI-27),stigmasta-4,22-dien-3-one(CI-28),3β-hydroxystigmasta-5,22-dien-7-one(CI-29),schleicheol 2(CI-30),fomentarol C(CI-31),7β-hydroxy-sitosterol(CI-32),xylarinol A(CI-33),2,6-dihydroxy-3,4-dimethylbenzoic acid methyl ester(CI-34),1-Hydroxy-10-methoxy-dibenz[b,e]oxepin-6,11-dione(CI-35),phyllostictines B(CI-36).ConclusionA total of 36 compounds were isolated from the 95%ethanol extract of C.indicum,including 17 terpenoids.There are 3 new terpenoids and one new isocoumarin were isolated.
