Study Of Anti-inflammatory Chemical Constituents From Callicarpa Cathayana And Uncaria Rhynchophylla

There are three chapters of this thesis.The first chapter is the study on the chemical constituents from the leaves and twigs of Callicarpa cathayana and their anti-inflammatory activity.The second chapter is the study on the chemical constituents from Uncaria rhynchophylla and their anti-inflammatory activity.The third chapter is the reviews on the chemical constituents and biological activities of the genus Uncaria in recent decades.The structures were isolated by column chromatography on silica gel,aluminum oxide,MCI gel CHP 20P/P120,Sephadex LH-20 and HPLC.The structure of the compounds were determined by spectral analysis.There were 62 compounds isolated and identified totally.The anti-inflammatory activity was tested by LDH detection kits.The first chapter is about the isolation and identification of the chemical constituents from the leaves and twigs of Callicarpa cathayana and the preliminary study of its anti-inflammatory activity.The chemical constituents were isolated and purified by column chromatography on silica gel,MCI gel CHP 20P/P120,Sephadex LH-20 and HPLC.The structure of the compounds was elucidated by spectral analysis.32 compounds were isolated and identified.Compound 1* was a new iridoid and compound 2* was a new labdane diterpene.Compound 13,18 and 19 showed a great anti-inflammatory activity.The second chapter discusses the isolation and identification of the chemical constituents from Uncaria rhynchophylla and the preliminary study of its anti-inflammatory activities.The chemical constituents were isolated and purified by column chromatography on silica gel,aluminum oxide,Sephadex LH-20 and HPLC.The structure of the compounds were elucidated by spectral analysis.There were 28 alkaloids and 2 ketones isolated and identified.Compound 17 showed a modest anti-inflammatory activity.The third chapter is the reviews on the chemical constituents from the genus Uncaria and its biological activity.According to ’Pharmacopoeia of the People’s Republic of China’,Uncaria rhynchophylla,U.macrophylla,U.hirsuta,U.sinensis and U.sessilifructus are considered as the sources of Chinese traditional medicines "Gou-Teng".The reviews are focused on the chemical constituents and biological activities of the genus Uncaria,especially these five plants.
