Objective: To explore the beneficial effect of melodic intonation therapy(MIT)on the recovery of language function in patients with aphasia. Methods: All the literatures about the treatment of aphasia with MIT were searched in CNKI Database,Wanfang Database,VIP Database,Pubmed,The Cochrane Library,Web of Science and Ovid, and Rev Man5.1 was used for Meta analysis.Thirty-six Broca aphasia patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria from September 2019 to December 2020 were randomly divided into two groups. The experimental group was given melodic intonation therapy, control group was given conventional language rehabilitation training. Both groups were trained twice a day for 30 minutes,5 days a week for a total of 2 weeks. The patients’ language function was evaluated before treatment and 2 weeks later.SPSS18.0 was used for statistical analysis. Results: 1.A total of 6 articles were included in Meta analysis. The improvement of speech, listening comprehension, retelling and naming in MIT group was better than that in conventional treatment group.2.A total of 18 patients were enrolled in this study, including 8 patients in the experimental group and 10 patients in the control group. The baseline data of the two groups were balanced and comparable except for the difference of oral expression score.Intra-group comparison showed that the scores of BDAE,oral expression and auditory comprehension in the experimental group were significantly higher than those before treatment, and the differences were statistically significant;in the control group, the scores of BDAE and oral expression were significantly higher than those before treatment, while the differences of scores in listening comprehension were not statistically significant.3.The comparison between the two groups showed that there was no statistical difference in the difference of progress between the two groups before and after treatment in all language assessment items. Conclusion: After 2 weeks of MIT treatment, the severity of aphasia can be reduced and the language function can be improved. The effect of MIT treatment is not inferior to that of conventional treatment, which can be used as a method for the treatment of aphasia.
