| ObjectiveThis study aims to analyze the status quo of social isolation, depression and cognitive function of the elderly in the community, explore the relationship between the social isolation, depression and cognitive function of the elderly, and provide a reference for effective intervention to promote the physical and mental health of the elderly in the community.MethodsIn this study, the convenience sampling method was used to conduct a questionnaire survey of 526 community elderly in Daiyue District,Taishan District, and high-tech zones in Tai’an City,Shandong Province from May to August 2019.The contents of the survey included general information, community commitment scale, simplified flow adjustment center depression scale, and simple mental status check scale. It investigated the general demographic status, social isolation, depression and cognitive function of the elderly.SPSS25.0 and AMOS22.0 were used to analyze the correlation of the data, multiple regression analysis and the construction and test of the structure effect model.Results.The social isolation score of the elderly in the community is(19.11±3.29),the depression score is(7.51±4.68),and the cognitive function score is(24.98±3.88).2.There are statistically significant differences in social isolation at different ages, genders, marital status, educational level, and children’s conditions(P<0.05);there are statistically significant differences in depression at different ages, marital status, education levels, and children’s conditions Significance(P<0.05);There are statistically significant differences in cognitive function in different ages, genders, marital status, education level and children’s conditions(P<0.05).3.The results of simple linear regression analysis show that social isolation has a predictive effect on cognitive function(β=0.167,t=4.339,P<0.001);social isolation has a predictive effect on depression(β=-0.207,t=-3.826,P<0.001);the results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that social isolation and depression scores have predictive effects on cognitive function(social isolation:β=0.133,t=3.486,P<0.001;depression: β=-0.168,t=-5.514,P<0.001).4.The results of the structural equation model show that the direct effect of social isolation on cognitive function is 0.719,the direct effect of social isolation on depressive emotion is-0.60,the direct effect of depressive emotion on cognitive function is-0.18,and the direct effect of social isolation on cognitive function is-0.8.The functional mediating effect was 0.107,accounting for12.9% of the total effect(0.107/0.827).Conclusions.Older,female,widowed,childless,and low-educated community elderly people have a higher level of social isolation;older, widowed, childless, and low-educated community elderly people have higher levels of depression;older, female, widowed,The cognitive function of the elderly in the community without children and low education level is lower.2.There is a correlation between social isolation, depression and cognitive function.Social isolation has a negative predictive effect on depression, depression has a negative predictive effect on cognitive function, and social isolation has a positive predictive effect on cognitive function.3.Depression plays a part of mediating role between social isolation and cognitive function. |
