Objective: To observe the curative effect of Fuzheng Baoyuan Decoction combined with Stupp regimen on postoperative high grade gliomas with deficiency both Qi and Yin.Methods: Cases were from postoperative high grade glioma patients who were prepared for chemoradiotherapy in the Department of Radiotherapy and Traditional Chinese Medicine of Shandong Provincial Hospital.A total of73 subjects were randomly divided into observation group(37 cases)and control group(36 cases). The control group were received Stupp regimen including concurrent chemoradiotherapy and temozolomide adjuvant chemotherapy while the observation group were received Fuzheng Baoyuan Decoction on the basis of control group. The data of the two groups before and after treatment were analyzed by SPSS 25.0 software. These data included imaging,KPS score,TCM syndrome score and adverse reactions. Results: During the study period,2 cases of the observation group dropped out.Finally,71 cases completed the study, including 35 cases in the observation group and 36 cases in the control group. There was no statistical difference between the two groups in general information such as gender, age, location of disease, pathological grade and surgical resection(P >0.05),which were comparable.(1)In terms of imaging, the two groups were more effective than before treatment, with statistical difference(P<0.05).After treatment, the control rate of the observation group was 85.71%,and the control group was 69.44%.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),indicating that Fuzheng Baoyuan Decoction could play a synergistic effect.(2)In terms of KPS score, the observation group(69.71±13.39)was higher than that before treatment(63.43±4.82),with statistical difference(P<0.01).The control group(63.83±11.53)was slightly higher than that before treatment(63.06±4.67),but it was not statistically significant(P > 0.05).After treatment, objective effective rate of the observation group was 94.28%,and the control was 69.44%,with statistical difference(P<0.05).These indicated that Fuzheng Baoyuan Decoction could improve the quality of life of patients.(3)In terms of TCM syndromes, the two groups were lower than that before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).After treatment, the control rate of the observation group was 82.85% and the control group was 41.66%,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).This shows that both groups could improve the TCM syndromes, and the observation group is significantly better than the control group.(4)In terms of adverse reactions, the observation group was lower than the control group in terms of bone marrow suppression, anemia, nausea and vomiting, and hair loss, with significant statistical differences(P<0.01).There was no significant difference in liver and kidney function between the two groups(P>0.05).This showed that Fuzheng Baoyuan Decoction could significantly reduce the adverse reactions caused by chemoradiotherapy and does not increase the liver and kidney function damage in patients. Conclusion: Fuzheng baoyuan Decoction could play a synergistic effect on postoperative high grade gliomas with deficiency of Qi and Yin,improve patients’ quality of life and TCM syndromes and reduce adverse reactions caused by chemoradiotherapy.
