This dissertation is made up of two chapters,in which the chemical of two plants, the fruits of Melodinus henryi, the aerial part of M.tenuicaudatus, have been investigated.A total of 41 alkaloids, including 6 new ones, were isolated from these species.Their structures were established on the basis of extensive spectroscopic methods, including NMR,HRMS,UV,IR,ECD calculations as well as single-crystal X-ray diffraction.A chemical investigation on the fruits of M.henryi led to the isolation of 21monoterpenoid indole alkaloids, including 4 new ones.Compounds 1-4 are new compounds and their cytotoxicity against five human cancer cell lines have been estimated. As a results,1 exhibited significant cytotoxicity against HL-60,with IC50of0.8μM.A chemical investigation on the aerial part of M.tenuicaudatus led to the isolation of 20 compounds, including 2 new ones.Seven compounds of them are monoterpenoid quinine alkaloids and others belongs to monoterpenoid indole alkaloids.Cytotoxic assay showed that the new compounds haven’t obvious inhibitory activity against five human cancer cell lines.
