| Previous studies had shown that the time domain envelope and fine structure of speech can independently transmit speech informationin in speech perception, but no one has studied whether there is a synergy between the two,and whether the auditory system combines the two aspects to integrate informaton. This question relates to our understanding and response to the problem that hearing impaired patients still have speech impairment even when using hearing aids.Because the speech envelope and fine structure of hearing impaired patients may no longer be normal in the cochlea due to cochlear lesions, and the normal match between the two may also be lost. For this reason,we have studied the effect of speech time domain envelope and fine structure matching on speech perception firstly.Based on the cochlear research in the laboratory, this study uses Matlab to implement an independently designed frequency domain mismatch experimental model and time domain lag model, and obtain experimental sounds, and then these hearing perceptions are tested by people with normal hearing.Based on the analysis of the results of listening to the experimental sounds of the subjects, the following conclusions are obtained: In the frequency domain mismatch experiment, the accuracy of speech perception will decrease the number of mismatched frequency bands, especially when the envelope moves three frequency bands. At and above, the accuracy rate will be reduced to less than 50%;in the time-domain lag experiment, whether with or without noise, the accuracy rate of sound perception will decrease as the lag time increases, but in a noisy environment The decline is even more pronounced. And in the time-domain lag experiment,by comparing the accuracy of the envelope lag and the fine structure lag,we can see that the accuracy of the envelope lag is higher than the fine structure lag at any lag time, which proves again Theimportant role of fine structure in anti-noise.This study clearly demonstrates the importance of time-domain envelope and time-domain fine-structure matching for speech perception, which plays an important role in speech perception intelligibility and noise immunity. This research is of great significance for understanding the mechanism of auditory speech processing, and also provides ideas for improving the technical performance of hearing aids and cochlear speech perception. |
