Objective: To observe and compare the corneal higher-order aberrations of small incision lens extraction(SMILE)and posterior chamber phakic intraocular lens implantation(ICL)for high myopia(-6.0D~-10.0D)patients.Methods: In this prospective non-randomized case control study,41patients(73 eyes)with high myopia(-6.0D ~-10.0D)who underwent myopia correction surgery in the first affiliated hospital of Guangxi medical university from 2018 to 2019 were recruited. In these cases,21 patients(36 eyes)and 20patients(37 eyes)underwent SMILE and ICL respectively. Before and 1 week,1mo,3mo after surgery,we use pentacam to evaluate the patients’ corneal higherorder aberrations.Recorded the uncorrected visual acuity(UCVA)3 months after the surgery.QIRC and OSDI questionnaires were used to investigate the subjective satisfaction of these postoperative patients.SPSS 25.0 was used to analyze the data.Results:(1)In SMILE group, the postoperative corneal higher-order aberrations increased, among which, the spherical aberration, vertical coma and RMS HOA of 1w,1mo and 3mo after surgery were statistically increased compared to preoperative.(2)In ICL group. There was no statistical difference in corneal higher-order aberrations 3 months after surgery.(3)At 1 week,1 month,3 month, the RMS HOA,spherical aberration and vertical coma in SMILE group were significantly higher than ICL group.(4)There is no significant difference between UCVA after 3 months. The QIRC between two groups were not statistically significant(P=0.103).The OSDI were significantly lower in ICL group than SMILE group(P = 0.007)Conclusions: Compared with SMILE,ICL implantation will introduce less corneal higher-order aberrations.ICL also has better ocular surface condition than SMILE. |
