| Part one The regional homogeneity study of cognitive development with age on school-age children by rs-f MRIObjective: To study the characteristics of cognitive development in elementary school-age children taking resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging(rs-f MRI)from the point of neuro-imaging.Methods: There were forty-nine school-age children who were devided into three different groups according to their ages(sixteen aged 7-8,eighteen aged 9-10 and fifteen aged 11-12)and all received MRI scans. The regional homogeneity(Re Ho)approach was used to analyze and deal with f MRI datas. Results: There were obvious differences among three groups in middle frontal gyrus(F=6.623,P=0.003),superior frontal gyrus(F=6.623,P=0.003),left middle cingulate gyrus(F=10.258,P=0.000)and parietal lobe(F=11.677,P=0.000).Compared to groups of 9-10 and 11-12 years old, group of 7-8 years old showed lower Re Ho values in all of the four brain regions and there were statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Compared to group of 11-12 years old, group of 9-10 years old showed lower Re Ho values in parietal lobe and there were statistically significant differences between the two groups(P<0.05),but there were no statistically significant differences among other three brain regions(P>0.05).Conclusion: The functions of execution control and activation of attention are gradually developed with increasing ages.Ages of nine and ten are critical periods of cognitive development of execution control on school-age children.Part two The regional homogeneity study of cognitive development with age on children with attention-deficit hyperactivity by rs-f MRIObjective: To explore the characteristics of cognitive development in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD)using resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging(rs-f MRI)from the point of neuro-imaging.Methods: Forty-five children with ADHD were devided into three groups according to their ages(fifteen each aged 7-8,9-10 and 11-12)and received the rs-f MRI scans.A regional homogeneity(Re Ho)approach was used to analyze f MRI datas. Results: There were clear differences among the three groups in posterior cerbellar lobe(F=13.751,P=0.000),left middle frontal gyrus(F=9.795,P=0.001),precuneus(F=15.624,P=0.000)and left superior frontal gyrus(F=17.953,P=0.000).Compared to the groups of 9-10 and 11-12 years old,the group of 7-8 years old showed higher Re Ho in posterior cerbellar lobe and precuneus, and there were statistically significant differences(P<0.05).In left middle frontal gyrus, the Re Ho values of the groups of 7-8 and 9-10 years old were higher than those of the group of 11-12 years old and there were statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Meanwhile,the groups of 9-10 and 11-12 years old showed higher Re Ho values than the group of 7-8 years old in left superior frontal gyrus and there were statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion: There exists developmental delay and deviating the normal track in the development of children with ADHD.The approach of Re Ho offers a kind of objective evidence for the early intervention of children with ADHD. |
