| Objective:The purpose of this study was to analyze the incidence of arm lymphedema in patients with breast cancer undergoing radical mastectomy, and identify the risk factors for lymphedema. Methods:Retrospective analysis of 77 breast cancer patients with lymphedema and 7 7 cancer patients without lymphedema in the Fourth Affliated Hospital of China Medical University from June 1st 2018 to June 1st 2020.All the patients received radical mastectomy(Postoperative following up had continued from 3 months to 36 months). We choosed twelve factors by retrieving CNKIćPub Med and other databases and collected and analyzed the clinical data of twelve factors that may cause lymphedema:age,BMI(body mass index),hypertension, diabetes, number of lymph nodes excised, number of metastasis lymph nodes chemotherapy, paclitaxel, hormone therapy, radiotherapy, pathological type and stage of breast cancer. The statisticswere analyzed with the chi-square test and logistic regression.Result: Five Factors are related to arm lymphedema:number of lymph nodes excised(OR=4.037),hypertension(OR=3.309),radiotherapy(OR=3.031),pathological stage of breast cancer(OR=2.625),BMI(OR=2.311).Conclusion:Breast cancer patients who received radical mastectomy were suffering an appreciable incidence of arm lymphedema.Greater number of lymph node excised, hypertension, radiotherapy, pathological stage and higher BMI were independent risk factors for lymphedema. |
