Objective: To discuss the factors influencing the diagnosis delay time of inpatients with multiple sclerosis(MS)and the related factors that affect compliance after diagnosis,so as to provide clinicians with a certain clinical basis for early identification and shorten the diagnosis delay time, and at the same time provide better compliance for specific populations with poor compliance and better management measures. Methods:Collected patients who were hospitalized in the Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University who met the 2018 Mc Donld MS diagnostic criteria, and screened out 39 cases of diagnosed delayed diagnosis aged 18 years and above, and obtained patients’ general information by consulting medical records and telephone interviews, including these information(age, gender, education level, etc.),clinical diagnosis(including classification),type of symptoms first appeared, time of first appearance of symptoms and time of clear diagnosis, whether there are other medical diagnoses before diagnosis, etc. And then organized data and conducted secondary data review, ethical approval and deprivacy.Statistical software was used to count and analyze the relevant factors affecting the delay time of diagnosis, and then a 6-month retrospective survey of the compliance of the treatment plan was carried out on 39 patients, and the compliance was divided into two subgroups, which were adopted Patients who were treated by professional physicians were classified as having good compliance, and those who stopped or changed their treatment plans on the way were classified as poorly compliant. To explore the factors influencing patient compliance.Results:1.39 patients in the Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University with delayed diagnosis were hospitalized. The ratio of men to women was1:1.6.The average age of first symptoms was 32.7±11.5 years, and the median age was 34 years. The diagnosis was confirmed the average age at the time was 34.9±11.6 years, the median age was 38 years, the average diagnosis delay time was 21.8±31.1 months, and the median diagnosis delay was 9months.2.There were significant differences in age, clinical type, first movement symptom, misdiagnosis and delay time of MS diagnosis(P<0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that age, first onset of motor symptoms and misdiagnosis were independent risk factors for delayed diagnosis(OR =6.999,0.024,0.091).3.Single factor analysis showed that age, education and compliance were related(P< 0.05).The results of multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that age and education were independent risk factors for compliance(OR = 3.664,0.159).4.Patients older than 40 years old have a long delay in diagnosis and poor compliance.Conclusions:1.39 patients in the Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University with delayed diagnosis were hospitalized. The ratio of men to women was 1:1.6.The average age of first symptoms was 32.7±11.5 years, and the median age was 34 years. The diagnosis was confirmed The average age at the time was 34.9±11.6 years, the median age was 38 years, the average diagnosis delay time was 21.8±31.1 months, and the median diagnosis delay was 9months.2.Age,first onset of motor symptoms and misdiagnosis were independent predictors of diagnostic delay. It is suggested that docters should pay more attention to the above aspects in order to shorten the delay time of diagnosis.3.Age and education level were independent risk factors of compliance. It is suggested that more relevant knowledge and treatment guidance should be given to older and lower education’ patients.4.Patients older than 40 years old have a long delay in diagnosis and poor compliance.Age should be a major concern throughout the course of MS.
