Treatment Of Granulomatous Lobular Mastitis With Partial Mastectomy

Objective:To provide a more effective treatment for the management of granulomatous lobular mastitis by comparing the efficacy of partial mastectomy and corticosteroid therapy for granulomatous lobular mastitis.Method:A total of 64 granulomatous lobular mastitis patients who were admitted to Loudi Central Hospital from September 2018 to September 2020 were selected as subjects in this study after the inclusion and exclusion criteria had been met.Taking the random number table method,the patients were divided into surgical group and cortisol group,which were all 32 cases.Cure rates,recurrence rates,and satisfaction with breast appearance were compared between the 2 groups.All cases were followed up for 6 months.Result:1.General information:Both patient groups were similar in age(34.44±6.22 vs 36.72±6.40) years,maximum diameter of mass(2.80 ±0.53 vs 2.73±0.67)cm,location of mass(χ~2=0.705,P=0.872),onset time(15.41±4.77 vs 13.53±4.69)days,history of lactation(χ~2=0.184,P=0.668),use of antibiotics(χ~2=0.309, P=0.587).2.Outcome measures:1)The cure rate was higher in the surgery group(100%)than the cortisol group(56.25%),the difference was statistically significant between two groups(P = 0.000).2)The recurrence rate in the surgery group(3.13%)was lower than the cortisol group(40.63%),the difference was statistically significant between two groups(χ~2=11.063,P=0.001).3)The satisfaction rate of appearance in the surgical group(71.88%)was lower than the cortisol group(93.75%),the difference was statistically significant between two groups(χ~2=3.952,P=0.047).Conclusions: Partial mastectomy is associated with higher cure rates and lower recurrence rates than corticosteroid therapy for granulomatous lobular mastitis and is more worthy of clinical promotion.
