Research Background:With the gradual aggravation of the problem of aging of the social population in our country,the incidence of many chronic diseases in the elderly is gradually increasing,which seriously threatens the physical and mental health of patients and brings huge economic pressure to society and families.Therefore,studying the specific pathogenesis or high-risk pathogenic factors of OVCF and taking effective preventive and therapeutic measures have important clinical and social significance.The causes of senile osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures are manifold.At present,bone loss,decreased bone density,and falls are considered to be the main risk factors.Therefore,measures to prevent OVCF mainly focus on standardized anti-osteoporosis treatments.,Appropriate wearing of auxiliary braces,prevention of falls,etc.However,the clinical results achieved so far are not very satisfactory.It has been reported in the literature that although some people have the above risk factors,OVCF does not occur.The reason may be closely related to the support of the trunk muscles.Therefore,we speculate that sarcopenia,especially trunk sarcopenia,is an important pathogenic factor for OVCF.Research Objective:Through case-control studies,explore the effect of trunk sarcopenia on vertebral fractures in the elderly,so as to provide clinical guidance and advice for the treatment and prevention of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures in the elderly.Research Methods:138 OVCF patients with complete clinical data admitted to our department from January 2019 to June 2020 were selected as the research object,all of the patients’ femoral neck bone mineral density was tested by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry,obtain the muscle content of each part of the patient’s body and the ratio of fatty degeneration at the same time.Referring to the World Health Organization diagnostic criteria to assess whether the patient has osteoporosis;according to the number of vertebral fractures,the fracture group(experimental group)is divided into single fracture group and multiple fractures(≧2))Group,and selected 44 patients with osteoporosis without vertebral fractures who were hospitalized in our department due to acute low back pain during the same period as the control group;refer to the diagnosis of sarcopenia proposed by the Asian Sarcopenia Working Group(AWGS)Standard,assess the prevalence of sarcopenia in the 3 groups of patients;calculate and evaluate the degree of trunk muscle and the proportion of trunk steatosis in the 3 groups,perform one-way analysis of variance and independent sample t-test,and compare the degree of trunk muscle in the 3 groups And the difference in the ratio of fatty degeneration.Research Results:(1)The diagnosis rates of sarcopenia in the three groups were 73.8%,100% and 24.5%,respectively.The diagnosis rate of sarcopenia in the fracture group was obvious higher than non-fracture group(P <0.05).(2)When Comparring with the control group,the degree of trunk muscle in the single fracture group and the crinosity group was conspicuous reduced,and the difference has outstanding characteristic(P<0.05);(3)The proportion of trunk steatosis in the multiple fracture group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P <0.05),there is no significant difference between the remaining groups(P> 0.05);Research Conclusion: The trunk muscle mass of elderly patients with OVCF is significantly lower than that of osteoporotic patients without vertebral fractures,and the proportion of trunk steatosis is obvious increased than that in the control group,suggesting that trunk sarcopenia is the potential high risk factors of OVCF.
