Hybrid is made up of natural turf and artificial carpet or fiber.It combines the advantages of natural and artificial turf,which became the first choice for high-quality football pitches.Carpet hybrid turf is a kind of hybrid,which could effectively extend the life,improve the stability of the pitches and gradually replace the natural turf in the high-iintensity competition to become the carrier of sports.The research of hybrid turf by foreign scholars mainly focuses on the soil stability,performance quality and sports safety.According to the available literature,the research on the planting technology of carpet hybrid turf is in its infancy,and the relevant research in China is still very weak.The study set a series of experiments such as carpet on turf quality under different seeding modes,different types of carpet on turf growth,and the traffic intensities on the quality of artificial carpet hybrid turf.With no carpet as the control,pot experiments were carried out to study the effects of carpets implantation on turf performance quality,aboveground and underground biomass,root morphological parameters(root length、root surface area、root valume and root vigour),the soil-bed stability of the hybrid turf and playing performance under different traffic intensities.So as to provide theoretical and practicl basis for the popularization and application of carpet hybrid turf.The main results are as follows:1.The carpet significantly decreased the turfgrass performance quality such as color.Compared with the control,perennial ryegrass,tall fescue and their mixture significantly decreased the turfgrass color by 3.8%,5.3% and 3.9%,respectively.Besides,the carpet decreased the aboveground biomass of perennial ryegrass and tall fescue by 11.8% and 16.9%,respectively.Additionally,as for the root morphological parameters under the carpet,the total root length,root surface area and root volume were all lower than the control in different degrees under different seeding conditions.Therefore,in the artificial-natural hybrid turf,the carpet inhibited the growth of root under the carpet,and further affected the growth of aboveground turf grass.2.The carpets implantation significantly decreased the turfgrass performance quality such as color,NDVI and density.The density of carpets implantation treatments decreased by 20.8%、8.7% and 14.7%at the 116 th day,respectively.But the carpet with mat increased the turfgrass uniformity.Besides,compared with the control,the carpets implantation decreased the underground biomass,root length,root surface area and root volume.In addition,compared with the control,the carpets implantation increased the shear strength and surface hardness.And the cohoresion increased by 51.9%、162.7% and134.6%,respectively,the hardness increased by 34.6%、32.8% and 45.8%,respectively.Therefore,in the artificial-natural hybrid turf,the carpets implantation inhibited the growth of root,which further affected the growth of aboveground turf grass and turf performance quality.The carpets implantation increased the stability of the hybrid turf,especially the carpet with mat.3.Under different traffic intensities,the color,coverage and performance quality of the turfgrass were all better than the natural turf.The higher the traffic intensity,the differences were larger under the higher traffic intensity.After 4-week traffic treatment,the color of two carpet treatments increased by45.5% and 39.0%,and the coverage respectively increased by 136.4% and 150.0% under the heavy traffic condition.Under the traffic conditions,the carpet mitigated the injury degree of turf,which protected the turf to some extent.After 4-week traffic,root length of the experiment without mat increased by 105.3%,239.1% and 152.6% than the control,respectively under the light,the middle and the heavy traffic conditions.The artificial carpet increased the hardness and soil compaction,and further increased the danger of sports,especially on the carpet with mat.Therefore,appropriate maintenance measures should be taken in the carpet hybrid-turf to avoid the risk of high hardness.
