Study On The Growth Traits Of Seed And Seedling Of Melia Azedarach From Different Provenances

Fifteen provenances of Melia azedarach from jiangsu,shanxi,hainan province were researched,the phenotypic traits of fruits and seeds,growth traits of annual seedlings,leaf traits,photosynthetic fluorescence parameters and other indexes were observed through outdoor observation,collection,sorting and analysis.The geographic variation rules of fruit traits and seedling growth traits among different provenances in Jiangsu,Shaanxi and Hainan were preliminarily revealed.The results showed that:1.Phenotypic traits of Melia azedarach from different provenances were significantly different.There was significant correlation between fruit size and fresh flesh weight and seed weight.The average germination rate of seeds from Yancheng,Jiangsu Province was the highest.The germination rate of seeds was negatively correlated with the mean temperature and annual precipitation in January,and positively correlated with longitude.The nucleation rate was positively correlated with longitude and latitude,altitude,annual mean temperature and annual relative humidity,and negatively correlated with January mean temperature,with obvious geographical variation.2.Suzhou provenances in Jiangsu Province and Ankang provenances in Shanxi Province had the fastest growth rate at seedling stage,and the difference of crown width among the 15 provenances was the largest.There was significant positive correlation between seedling height,ground diameter,lateral branch length and crown width,and significant positive correlation between leaf area,leaf length and leaf width and lateral branch length.3.There was little difference in leaf greenness among the provenances of Melia azedarach,but there was significant difference in potential maximum light energy conversion efficiency among various provenances.Lingao provenances from Hainan had the fastest photochemical reaction,and Ankang provenances from Shaanxi had the best light tolerance.4.In terms of fast-growing afforestation,Jiangsu Suzhou provenance and Shanxi Ankang provenance were the best.In the cultivation of excellent fruit provenance,Nantong provenance in Jiangsu,Lingao provenance in Hainan and Dongfang provenance in Hainan were the best.The provenance with the best comprehensive performance was Jiangsu Suzhou provenance.
