Xinjiang is not only one of the main saline-alkali distribution areas in China, but also an extremely important commercial melon planting and production area. The aim of this study was to clarify the changes of the relative indexes of melon seed germination and seedling growth under salt stress.Stress tests were carried out on four melon varieties including Wangwenxiang,Fengwei5,Xizhoumi17,Huangpi9818 by simulating saline-alkali environment with salt solutions of different proportions of multi-salinity,the effects of salt treatment with different concentrations on four kinds of melon were analyzed from three aspects:seed germination, plant growth and physiological characteristics, and organ ion absorption and distribution, explore the salt tolerance mechanism of melon,it provides a theoretical reference for the selection of salt-tolerant varieties and the development of saline-alkali cultivation of melon. The experimental analysis results are as follows:(1)Under low salt treatment, four melon varieties could maintain more than 50%germination rate and more than 60%germination potential. The germination index of each melon variety was Wangwenxiang>Fengwei5>Xizhoum 17>Huangpi9818.The plant height, stem diameter, accumulation of aboveground and underground biomass of each melon variety showed a general trend of decline with the increasing of salt stress concentration, the Root-shoot ratio showed a trend of decreasing and then increasing, the salt sensitivity index, tolerance index and morphological parameters showed a downward trend, and the differences were significant compared with CK.(2)By accumulating and increasing the contents of GB,Pro,SS and SP,the four kinds of melon improved their salt tolerance and showed a timely response to osmotic regulation at low concentration.Under the treatment of 100~150mmol·L-1,the contents of GB,Pro,SS and SP of both the Wangwenxiang and Fengwei5 were higher than that of Xizhoumi17 and Huangpi9818.(3)The content of Na+ in the four melon varieties increased gradually with the addition of salt concentration, and the content of K+ showed a decreasing trend. The total amount of Ca2+ absorbed by each organ of the Wangwenxiang was the highest among the four varieties, and the content of leaf Mg2+ at different salt concentrations was higher than that of the other three varieties. The Wangwenxiang has a strong ability to regulate the transport of Fe2+,Cu2+and Zn2+.The ratios of K+/Na+,Ca2+/Na+ and Mg2+/Na+ in the roots, stems and leaves of muskmelon all showed a decreasing trend with the addition of stress concentration, and were significantly lower than the control group. The difference between different concentration treatments was significant. |
