Investigation On Welfare State Of Pig Farm In Feicheng City Of Shandong Province And Effect Of Welfare Breeding On Pig Production Performance

In this study,78 pig farm households in 11 towns(sub-districts)in Feicheng City,Shandong Province were used as the research objects,and surveys were conducted in the form of questionnaire surveys and field visits.The basic situation of the pig farm households,the welfare level of suckling piglets,growing-finishing pigs,pregnant sows and lactating sows were investigated,and four groups of experiments were designed to demonstrate relevant issues.The survey results found:1.Regarding suckling piglets,all farms adopt the method of freely sucking breast milk to feed suckling piglets.32%of the interviewed farm households choose to wean at 21 days of age,and only 5 farms add probiotics to their feed after weaning;Most of the farm households interviewed provided straws and electric heating panels for the suckling piglet pens,and used birth powder for the piglets,but only 4 farms provided knee stickers for the piglets;38%of the farms were suckling piglet pens Toys are provided inside.2.In terms of growing and finishing pigs,only 16%of the surveyed farms provide air purifiers for pigs,and 22%of the surveyed farms are equipped with ammonia detection equipment in their pens;32%of the surveyed farms clean their feces twice a day;only 15%of the surveyed farms used cement+slatted floor as floor materials,and only 18.9%of surveyed farms provided environmentally enriched materials for pigs.3.Regarding gestating sows,75%of the surveyed farm households gestating sows live in the confinement pens.The time spent on the confinement pens is mainly 110 days,and the area of a single pig is concentrated around 1.6 m~2.4.Regarding lactating sows,the time of lactating sows in the stall is mainly concentrated in 24 days,and the area of a single pig is concentrated at about 1.8 m~2.There are only three farms in the pig house where there are wood chips,straw and straw.Enriched materials.According to the main growth stages of pigs in the pig farm,four sets of experiments are designed for weaning piglets,growing-finishing pigs,pregnant sows and lactating sows.Through data index determination,data comparison,statistical analysis and other methods,the welfare pigs and non-welfare pigs In the case of pigs,various indicators of pigs were verified,and it was found that:1.For weaned piglets,the individual weight gain of 28-day-old weaned piglets is significant,FCR is significantly reduced,and the rate of diarrhea and mortality of piglets is significantly reduced.On the basis of complete supporting facilities such as feed,feeding management,environment and disease control,the earlier weaning within a certain age range,the more it can stimulate the feed intake of piglets,increase feed intake,promote growth and development of piglets,and increase daily growth.It can reduce diarrhea and mortality,and improve the welfare of weaned piglets.2.For growing-finishing pigs,cement+slatted board ground significantly improves the ADG of growing-finishing pigs,significantly reduces FCR,and significantly reduces the degree of limb and hoof injury;positive social behaviors and exploratory behaviors are significantly increased.3.For pregnant sows and pregnant sows raised in pens,the number of stillborn piglets and the number of weak piglets has been significantly reduced,the average birth weight of piglets has been significantly increased,and the incidence of abnormal behaviors has been significantly reduced.4.For lactating sows,adding melons and fruits to the diet can significantly increase the average weight and average litter weight of weaned piglets,and significantly shorten the estrus interval.In summary,the level of pig raising in our country is still very low,and there is still a big gap with foreign research.The results of our investigation and research found that the slight welfare breeding of pigs can get unexpected benefits.Welfare pig farming has a bright future in my country,which is conducive to improving the status of my country’s pig production in international trade.We should take into account my country’s current national conditions and increase practical animal welfare promotion.
