This experiment was conducted to study the effects of compound bacterial culture and yeast β-glucan on antioxidant function and inflammatory factors of mutton sheep.Sixty healthy lambs weaned at the age of 50 days were randomly divided into 3 groups with 20 lambs in each group, half male and half female. The control group was fed a total mixed diet(TMR),the compound culture treatment group was replaced with the compound culture in the basic TMR,and the β-glucan treatment group was added with yeast β-glucan on the basis of TMR.The experiment lasted for 137 days, including 7 days of pre-feeding period and 130 days of formal period. The test results show that:(1)Compound bacterial culture group could improve the activities of GSH-Px,SOD,CAT and T-AOC in serum of RAMS,and could also up-regulate the relative expression levels of SOD and GSH-Px genes in liver tissue of RAMS(P <0.05).The supplementation of β-glucan in TMR diet could increase SOD activity, decrease MDA content, and up-regulate the relative expression levels of SOD and GSH-Px genes in liver tissues of RAMS(P < 0.05).(2)T-AOC in serum of ewes was significantly increased and MDA content was significantly decreased in compound culture group, and the relative expression levels of SOD,GSH-Px and CAT genes in liver of ewes were up-regulated(P<0.05).The activity of GSH-Px and T-AOC in β-glucan group were significantly increased, while the content of MDA was significantly decreased, and the relative expression level of SOD gene in liver tissue of ewe were up-regulated(P<0.05).(3)Adding compound culture in TMR diet increased the contents of IL-1β,TNF-α,IL-6 and IL-8 in serum of RAMS(P <0.05),and also increased the relative expression levels of IL-6,IL-4,IL-10 and TNF-α genes in liver tissue of RAMS(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, supplementation of yeast β-glucan significantly increased the contents of TNF-α and IL-6 in serum of RAMS(P<0.05),and increased the relative expression levels of IL-1β,IL-8,IL-10 and TNF-α genes in liver of rams(P <0.05).(4)Compound bacterial culture group significantly increased the contents of IL-1β,TNF-α,IL-6 and IL-8 in serum of ewes(P <0.05),and also significantly increased the relative expression levels of IL-6,IL-8,IL-4 and IL-10 genes in liver of ewes(P <0.05);Compared with the control group, the contents of IL-8 and TNF-α in serum of β-glucan group were increased(P<0.05),and the relative expression levels of IL-1β,IL-10,TNF-α and IL-4 genes in liver of ewe were also increased(P<0.05).In conclusion, both compound bacterial culture and yeast β-glucan can significantly improve the antioxidant function and the content of inflammatory factors, and improve the body immunity of mutton sheep.Compound bacterial culture could significantly increase the gene expression of antioxidant enzymes and cytokines in mutton sheep, while β-glucan only significantly increased the gene expression of cytokines.
