This study is based on Gobi short-tail sheep. In winter and spring, under a new type of sun-heat storage sheep breeding conditions, the effects of diets with different energy levels on its production performance, blood biochemical indicators and rumen environment are explored without affecting the sheep.Under the premise of only production performance and health, reducing the energy level of the house feeding diet provides a theoretical basis for low-cost breeding in winter and spring in pastoral areas. In the experiment,60 Gobi short-tail sheep with the same age and weight of 43.64kg(±2.19kg)were selected, and they were randomly divided into two experimental groups and a control group, each with 20 experimental sheep, and the experimental period was60 days. The dietary protein levels of the three groups were the same. The dietary energy of the control group was 100%(12.55KJ/d)of the metabolic energy requirement during pregnancy, the dietary energy of the test group I was 80% of the metabolic energy requirement during pregnancy, and the test group II Dietary energy is 60% of the metabolic energy requirement during pregnancy. The test results showed that reducing energy levels had an effect on the final weight and average daily gain of Gobi short-tail sheep. There was no significant difference between the test group I and the control group(P>0.05),and the test group II was significantly lower than the control group(P<0.01).Compared with the control group, the feeding cost of the experiment group I was saved by 32.31%,and the feeding cost of the experiment group II was saved by 52.00%compared with the control group. The biochemical indexes such as serum albumin and alanine aminotransferase of test group I and test group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05),and the blood ammonia nitrogen concentration was extremely significantly reduced(P<0.01),and the blood sugar decreased with the energy level. The decreasing trend has no significant difference with other blood biochemical indicators.Decreasing energy levels had no significant difference in rumen fluid p H and bacterial protein(P>0.05).The concentration of ammonia nitrogen in test group I and test group II was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.01),and the difference between test group I and test group II was not significant.Through 16 s RNA sequencing,it can be seen from the Venn diagram that the microbial species of test group I More than the control group and the test group II,from the species abundance histogram,Ternaryplot analysis,phylum-level OTUs clustering heat map,and Alpha diversity analysis all show that the species diversity and richness of the test group I are more than those of the control group and the control group. In test group II,the rumen microbes are more abundant, which makes the rumen of ruminants healthier. The results of this experiment show that 80% of the ration required for metabolic energy during pregnancy can effectively reduce feeding costs without affecting the performance and health of the sheep.
