At present,people are increasingly aware of environmental and economic problems caused by soil erosion.The hilly red soil area in the south is one of the most severely eroded areas in China.The red soil in Jiangxi Province is widely distributed,and soil erosion is serious,which seriously hinders the local economic and social development.This paper takes Jiangxi Province as the research area and uses CMORPH rainfall data,soil data,landuse data,MODIS vegetation index data,and DEM data,based on the RUSLE model,each parameter of the model is revised,and a soil loss equation suitable for Jiangxi Province is established to calculate Soil erosion.Summarize the distribution of soil erosion in each city,land use type,slope zone,and vegetation coverage level in Jiangxi Province,and predict the state of soil erosion in Jiangxi Province in 2024.Below are key research findings:(1)The calculation error of the mild and above erosion area of the province in 2014 calculated by the model is +7.02%,and it is +9.06% in 2019.It shows that the RUSLE model has a good estimation effect and can be applied to the quantitative evaluation and analysis of soil erosion on a large scale in Jiangxi Province.(2)In terms of time,the average annual soil erosion modulus of Jiangxi Province from 2014 to 2019 showed a downward trend.It was 625.51t/km2·a in 2014 and 349.92t/km2·a in 2019.The area of mild and above erosion was reduced by 7.12%,and the area of severe erosion and above was reduced by 69.14%.(3)From a spatial point of view,the soil erosion status of Jiangxi Province is closely related to topography.Slight and mild erosion are mainly distributed in the flat Poyang Lake Plain;Moderate and above moderate erosion are mainly distributed in the mountainous areas of the south,west and northeast.In areas with a slope less than 20°,the erosion area accounts for 82.03% of the erosion area in Jiangxi Province.With the increase of the slope,mild,moderate,strong,and very strong erosion all appear to increase first and then decrease,and severe erosion appears to increase with the increase of the slope.
