Bamboo is easy to mildew and lose its use value.However,the existing bamboo mildew is still based on chemical agents,which has certain negative effects on the environment and human healthy.Therefore,inhibition mechanism and antibacterial activity of natural antibacterial agent citral on bamboo mold and its anti-mildew effect on bamboo were studied.The main research results are as follows:(1)The antibacterial activity of citral with the concentration of 3.125~75mg/m L against bamboo mold was studied by Oxford cup method,and the antibacterial mechanism of citral against bamboo mold was studied.The results showed that citral with the concentration of 3.125~75mg/m L had a strong antibacterial effect on bamboo mold,among them,the antibacterial rate of citral against common bamboo molds reached more than 100% when the citral concentration was 75mg/m L.What’s more,citral could inhibit or kill mold by changing or destroying the microstructure of mycelium,resulting in the outflow of nucleic acid and protein in mycelium and the imbalance of p H inside and outside the cell.(2)The process parameters of bamboo treated with citral were studied by orthogonal experiment,and the mildew resistance of bamboo treated with citral was studied.The results showed that the best processing parameters of bamboo treated with citral were as follows: citral concentration 0.795mg/m L,impregnation pressure 0.3MPa,pressure time 90 min,among them,the concentration of citral was the main factor affecting the wet drug loading of bamboo strips.However,only when the citral concentration was increased to 200mg/m L,the required quantity for the control of common bamboo molds could be reached,thus achieving the control effect.(3)In order to reduce the dosage of citral but still achieve the same control effect,the antibacterial properties of the compounds of citral that were citral mixed with cinnamaldehyde or thymol respectively and the control effect of treated bamboo strips on bamboo mold were studied.The results showed that the antibacterial activity of citral and thymol in the ratio of 2:1 was higher than that of citral and cinnamaldehyde.The bamboo strips treated with the mixture of citral and thymol at the concentration of 200mg/m L and the bamboo strips treated with citral solution at the concentration of200mg/m L had the same control effect on bamboo mold,and the control efficacy was 100%. |
