Abstract/Summary:
China is a "water shortage" country.The lack of water resources has gradually transformed urban greening construction from water-consuming to water-saving.Screening ground cover plants with strong drought resistance,low water requirement,and wide ecological adaptability,and exploring efficient seed improvement techniques are the key to greening construction in areas lacking water resources.Seed coating technology can ensure the growth of plants by increasing the germination rate of seeds,shortening germination time,and improving seed resistance,so that plants can be planted smoothly under drought stress.This technology plays an important role in the construction of "water-saving" urban greening.In this study,Buffalograss(Buchloe dactyloides)seeds were used as the research material.The seeds were removed the chaff,then the film-forming agent,inactive ingredients,drought-resistant active ingredients and other related active ingredients were selected.Finally,the buffalograss seeds are suspension coated and pelletized.The main results of the study are as follows:1.Buffalograss varieties and whether shelling have significant interaction effects on seed germination potential,germination rate,germination index,vigor index.Shelling has a significant promoting effect on the germination of ‘Bowie’ and ‘Texoka’,of which ‘Texoka’has the most significant promoting effect.On the third day,the germination potential reached60.67%,and the germination rate,germination index and seed vigor index increased by 5.09 times,8.16 times,and 11.94 times,respectively.2.The final ingredient formula of buffalograss drought-resistant suspension seed coating agent is: 2% polyvinyl alcohol,0.3% emulsifier,0.1% dispersant,0.05% defoamer,0.2%wetting agent,0.1% thickener,0.1% colorant,0.01 mg/L brassinolide,50mg/L gibberellin,50mg/L naphthalene acetic acid,0.01% ammonium polyphosphate,0.01% fulvic acid,10mg/L manganese sulfate,5mg/L zinc sulfate and 0.1% polyacrylamide.3.Buffalograss seed pelleting coating: "attapulgite + diatomite","attapulgite + diatomite +vermiculite powder","attapulgite + diatomite + talc powder" and "attapulgite + the diatomite +activated carbon powder ",these four treatments delayed the germination time of the pelleted seeds.And the germination potential,germination rate and germination index were all reduced.It is speculated that the filler has a certain effect on the permeability of the seeds,and thus inhibits the germination of the seeds.In the fertilizer coating experiment,it was found that the 1% urea coating had the best effect on promoting seed germination.
