Whole Cottonseed(WCS),as a by-product of cotton processing,is characterized by high energy, high protein and high fiber, and is a high quality protein feed.It can effectively solve the contradiction between high energy and high level of cellulose supply in ruminant feed.Numerous studies have shown that WCS can significantly increase milk production and production performance in dairy and beef cattle feeds. In recent years, the complete pellet feed of mutton sheep has developed rapidly. Its feeding time-saving,low waste, high nutrient concentration, easy storage and transportation advantages have gradually attracted people’s attention and are widely used in production, but related to WCS in meat sheep complete pellet feeds.Tere are few studies on feed. The purpose of this experiment was to study the effects of adding WCS on the production performance, feed nutrient digestibility, blood biochemical parameters and meat quality of fattening sheep in full-price pellet feed.To determine the appropriate amount of WCS in the complete pellet feed of sheep,It is conducive to further promoting the use of cottonseed, solving the problem of shortage of protein feed in China, reducing the cost of raising and improving the economic benefits of the farm.Experiment 1 was conducted to study the effects of adding different levels of whole cottonseed in the complete pellet feed intake, nutrient digestibility, blood biochemical parameters and meat quality of sheep.Choose 24 sheep weighing about 20kg.Carry out a full-featured urine digestion test, using a completely randomized design, there were 4 groups,6 in each group, fed with full-price pellets(0%,5%,10%,15%)with different WCS levels. The results show:There was no significant change in the apparent digestibility of dry matter with the increase in the proportion of WCS in the diet(P>0.05).Compared with the control group, the 10%cottonseed group significantly increased the organic matter digestibility and fat digestibility(P<0.05),but had no significant effect on the apparent digestibility of acid detergent fiber and neutral detergent fiber(P>0.05),However,in the 15%cottonseed addition group, the apparent digestibility of the apparent digestibility of the acid detergent fiber and the neutral detergent fiber was the lowest. At the end of the digestion and metabolism test, blood samples were taken and a slaughter test was carried out. From the results. The increase of WCS level in the diet had no significant effect on blood urea nitrogen, blood protein, total protein and blood glucose(P>0.05).The content of aspartate aminotransferase in blood increased significantly with the increase of WCS level(P<0.05).Alanine aminotransferase was significantly increased(P<0.05)at the addition ratio of 10%,but still in the normal physiological range; With the increase of WCS level, the slaughter rate of each test group increased to varying degrees. The 15%cottonseed test group was added, and the slaughter rate of sheep was significantly higher than that of the 5%cottonseed group and the control group(P<0.05).The area of eye muscle increased with the addition of WCS,but the difference was not significant(P>0.05).The addition of different WCS levels in the diet had no significant effect on the pH45min,pH24h,meat color index and drip loss of Huyang meat(P>0.05),but significantly increased the cooking loss and shearing force of meat samples(P<0.05).Experiment 2 was conducted to investigate the effect of cottonseed in combination with choline on the performance of sheep in.complete pellet feed A 40-day-old growth test was conducted on a cashmere goat with a weight of about 20 kg.The first group of rations:add 10%whole cottonseed and 0.2%choline.Second group of diets:add 10%whole cottonseed and 0%choline.The third group of diets:add 0%cottonseed and 0.2%choline,The fourth group of diets:add 0%whole cottonseed and 0%choline.The results show:(1)Simultaneous addition of whole cottonseed and choline had no significant effect on dry matter intake(P>0.05),but only adding choline would increase dry matter intake;(2)Adding 10%cottonseed in the full-price diet of sheep can significantly increase the ADG of sheep(P<0.05).Adding 0.2%choline alone can also increase the ADG of sheep(P>0.05),but if both Added a tendency to reduce ADG;(3)When 10%of WCS is added to goat diet,it can effectively improve the breeding efficiency of goats. In summary, the conclusion is drawn:(1)Adding WCS to the diet can increase the apparent digestibility of DM,OM and EE and the retention rate of nitrogen in sheep.Among them,15%cottonseed group can increase the protein deposition in Hu sheep, but its ADF and NDF digestibility are the lowest. The excessive addition of whole cottonseed can inhibit the activity of rumen fiber decomposing bacteria.(2)Adding WCS to the diet can significantly increase the feed intake, slaughter rate and average daily gain of Hu sheep, but with the increase of WCS level, the meat quality is affected. The cooking loss and shearing force are added after 10%.Significantly improved;(3)The increase of WCS in the diet has a certain impact on the liver function of sheep, but it is still within the tolerance of the sheep body and has not caused substantial losses;(4)When 10%of WCS is added to goat diet,it can effectively improve the breeding efficiency of goats. This test comprehensively analyzes the feed cost and various indicators, and the appropriate addition level of whole cottonseed in the complete pellet feed of fattening mutton sheep is 10%.
