Effects Of Different Curing Methods On The Quality Of Flue-cured Tobacco Leaves After Roasting

In order to find a suitable flue-curing method for tobacco in southern Guizhou,three bulk curing methods,"braised curing"(T1),conventional rod hanging curing(T2)and bulk leaf basket curing(T3)were set up in the experiment to study the effects of different curing methods on the quality of Main varieties of flue-cured tobacco in southern Guizhou(Yunyan 87 and K326).The results show that:1.Quality Grade.As far as Yunyan 87 is concerned,the best quality grade of tobacco leaves is T1,the worst is T2 and T3(T3 in the middle leaves is better than T2).From the perspective of specific position of leaves,except the average price and variegated tobacco rate,the other indexes T1 in the leaves of lower position were significantly higher than T2,T3;between T2 and T3,the upper middle flue-cured tobacco rate and average price T2 were significantly higher than T3,while the orange tobacco rate and variegated tobacco rate T3 were significantly higher than T2.In the middle leaf,all indexes T1 are significantly better than T2 and T3,among which,T2 is significantly higher than T3 in superior flue-cured tobacco rate and orange tobacco rate T2,and T3 is significantly better than T2 in upper and middle flue-cured tobacco rate,variegated tobacco rate and average price T3.In the upper leaves,except the orange tobacco rate,the other indexes T1 are significantly better than T2 and T3.Compared with T3,the upper flue-cured tobacco rate and orange tobacco rate T2 are significantly higher than T3,while the other indexes have no significant difference.K326,the quality grade showed that T3 was the best,T1 was the second,T2 was the worst.The flue-curing method for middle leaf is T1 best,T2 second,T3 worst.There is no significant difference between T1 and T2 in the upper leaves,which is better than T3.The overall performance of Yunyan 87 quality grade is slightly better than K326.2.Main chemical components.From the content and coordination of chemical components,the total potassium content and reducing sugar/nicotine of the two varieties are within the appropriate range.The reducing sugar content and schmuk value,as well as the total sugar content in the lower upper leaves and the sugar-alkali ratio in the lower leaves were higher than the whole.The ratio of nitrogen to alkali in the lower leaves is generally lower.However,compared with the three baking methods,the contents of reducing sugar,total sugar,total potassium,petroleum ether extract and schmuk value of T1 increased,while starch and protein decreased in both varieties.The reducing sugar/nicotine of T3 decreased,and there was significant difference between T3 and T1 or T2 in each part.Among them,the content of protein and petroleum ether extract and the ratio of potassium to chlorine are Yunyan 87 slightly higher than K326,while the chlorine content and Schmick value are K326 higher than Yunyan 87.The comprehensive score of chemical composition and coordination index showed that there was no significant difference between the two varieties,except that T3 in the upper leaves of Yunyan 87 was significantly lower than T1 and T2.Which indicated that the three curing methods had little effect on the coordination of chemical composition of cured tobacco leaves.However,compared with the two varieties,Yunyan 87’ s middle leaf score is slightly higher than K326,while the lower and upper leaves are K326 slightly higher than Yunyan 87.3.Evaluation of smoking quality.The overall smoking quality of Yunyan 87 shows that T1 and T2 are basically the same and both are better than T3(T1 is better than T2 in upper leaves).From the specific position.The mixed gas score of lower leaf,T1 is significantly higher than T3.The aroma quality and aroma quantity score of T1 and T2 are significantly higher than T3,while T3 only has higher score of irritant gas,and the total score of evaluation and absorption is significantly higher than T3 with T1 and T2.In the middle leaves,the aroma quality,aroma quantity and momentum score of T1 were significantly higher than T3,the aroma quality score of T2 was significantly higher than T3,T3 only had higher mixed gas and irritant gas score,and the total score of smoking evaluation was significantly higher than T3 with T1 and T2.In the upper leaves,T1 had significantly higher taste scores than T2 and T3,and T1 had the highest flammability and tobacco ash scores.T2 had significantly higher energy scores than T1 and T3.There was no significant difference in aroma quality and aroma quantity scores among the three ways.The total score of evaluation and absorption was T1﹥T2﹥T3,and the difference was significant.K326,the evaluation of smoking quality showed that the lower leaf was T1 best,T2 and T3 were basically equivalent;T2 is the best in the middle leaf,T1 and T3 are basically equivalent.In the upper leaf,the three ways are basically the same.The total score of Yunyan 87 was slightly higher than K326.Comprehensive analysis,this study found that Yunyan 87 cured by "braising and baking" had better tobacco quality,while K326 cured by "braising and baking" and conventional hanging rod were both suitable.The comprehensive quality of Yunyan87 is slightly better than K326.
