| Fast developing economy and people’s demand for life quality caused a series of ecological security issues including frequent occurrence of urban diseases,heavier social burdens,worsened air pollution,deteriorated water environment and loss of ecological diversity.The occurrence and deterioration of those issues pose severe threats to human beings.Thus,proper acknowledgement and evaluation to current ecological security and its future developing trends,as well as strengthened research on these issues become a must for restraining and settling the consequence brought by ecological issues.The research area of Changting County is one of Fujian’s less developed counties that suffers the most water loss and soil erosion in the red soil area of South China.CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and Fujian Provincial People’s Government have taken measures against the issue by setting Changting as a provincial pioneering point for massively treating the erosion[1].However,the treatment and the ecological security construction are so systematic that they require long-term and arduous work,previous treated areas are still under fragile ecology,and the living standard of the people there is relatively low.Therefore,to further consolidate and improve the gained effects,we need to comprehensively evaluate Changting’s ecological security conditions and its gained ecological benefits in order to provide theoretical basis for future ecological security construction and promoting Changting’s treatment mode and experiences.This research,under the support of GIS technology,makes references to domestic and foreign research findings,experts’ views,and P-S-R Model to establish Changting’s index systems of the ecological security evaluation social development sub-system and the ecological environment sub-system.Based on Changting and its towns’ varies index values of the three years of 2003,2008 and 2013 from the remote sensing and statistics data extraction and evaluation system,it uses the selected evaluation indices to calculate comprehensive weight,social development comprehensive indices and ecological environment indices by combining entropy evaluation method and analytic hierarchy process.Finally,under coupling principle,a coupling model of Changting’s urbanization and ecological environment is established,and the two comprehensive indices of coupling degree and coupling coordination degree are worked out.Results show that during the decade between 2003 and 2013,Changting County’s ecological security conditions are much improved as a whole,the two comprehensive indices of social development and ecological environment increased significantly,and the former one is slightly higher than the other,indicating that this county’s ecological security is better.Specifically,the security condition of its five towns,namely Tingzhou Town,Datong Town,Cewu Town,Hetian Town and Sanzhou Town,are better,but the same of another three towns,namely Yanggu Town,Anjie Town and Tiechang Town,are in need of further improvement.The reason of the said conditions is mainly that Changting’s society and economy developed very fast during this decade,increased population led to better employment and life,and people’s living standard was improved,as well as the source of Tingjiang River was well protected and the strengthened construction of ecological county including treating water and soil loss.Nevertheless,human activities were more common here which affected Changting’s ecological security in a certain degree,thus the ecological environment’s stability and landscape structure are also affected,plus the ecological security issues left by history and its own shortcomings of natural factors,Changting’s ecological security construction is still needing more investment.At last,this research,on the basis of Changting’s actual circumstances,combines the ecological security evaluation results to analyze its current phase of constructing ecological county,and for its issues proposed some feasible advices to improve Changting’s ecology. |
