| Toys,as an indispensable part of children’s life,endow most children’s cognition of things in their childhood.And with the proposal of the concept of “teaching in fun” in China and the increasing attention of young parents to children,children’s educational toys are currently playing an increasingly important part.In the era of artificial intelligence,the rise of programming education indicates a new design direction for children’s educational toys,which,have mutually become an important carrier of programming education.Taking science,technology,engineering,art and mathematics as basic disciplines,STEAM education concept emphasizes breaking discipline boundaries and using connected thinking to solve problems,so as to better develop children’s innovation ability;At the same time,STEAM education concept is connected with real life and finally applied to real life to deal with problems.Today,with the increasing development of science and technology,and the higher demand for innovative talents,China introduces steam education to promote the reform of traditional education and cultivate more innovative talents.In the recent years,China’s programming education has shown explosive development,and programming educational toys have quickly poured into the market in a short period of time and become a hot product.However,the rapid development of the industry has also led to the uneven quality problems,such as serious homogenization,lack of innovation and poor brand effect.Evidently,the industry of programming toy products at present is still in the preliminary exploration stage.STEAM education concept is different from the traditional single subject examination oriented education.With interdisciplinary and practical situational design,it enables children to better understand knowledge,expand imagination and build children’s thinking logic,which has profound guiding significance for the design of programming toy products at this stage.4 to 6 years old is an primary stage in the formation of behavior mode,thinking method and personality characteristics,thus this paper takes 4 to 6-year-old children as the research object.Firstly,the paper takes the STEAM education concept and children’s educational toys as the starting point,and makes an in-depth study on them.The author analyzes the development and current situation of programming educational toy,which is an important part of children’s educational toys,and discusses the relationship between STEAM education concept and programming educational toys,and finally summarizes the design status of programming educational toys based on STEAM education concept.Then,using three research methods: questionnaire survey,household observation and in-depth interview,this paper investigates the target users and their parents,and analyzes the data to summarize the needs of users.After that,this paper carries out the design transformation of user needs,and puts forward the design principles and design ideas of programming educational toys based on STEAM education concept under the guidance of STEAM toy attributes to guide the design of final products.The relevant research of this paper not only supplements the deficiencies and vacancies of guiding product design with STEAM education concept,but also provides reference value for relevant types of product design in the future. |
