The Study Of University Public Space: An Interaction Behavior View

In the Internet era,social media platforms are prevalent.Although they provide more chances for people,especially college students,to communicate conveniently,it also reduces the desire to exchange ideas on campus public spaces gradually.To attract college students to come back to communicate with each other on campus,it is trendy to improve the quality of public spaces to promote interaction behaviors.However,the research and practice on interaction behavior and space perception are scarce at this stage.To bridge such a gap,we adopted a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches to study public space and interaction behavior in colleges and universities from the aspect of interaction behavior perception.Through looking up domestic and foreign literature,going through the theoretical materials about public space,interaction behavior and environmental behavior,we studied the physical and mental feelings of college students towards college public space.Adopting research methods such as field research and questionnaire interviews,we analyzed the factors affecting the design of public space and the needs and characteristics of college students’ interaction behavior.Specifically,we leveraged the SD semantic analysis method to conduct factor analysis based on the selected evaluation terms of public space perception in colleges and universities.The common factors influencing the design of public space in colleges and universities include spatial function factor,environment factor,atmosphere perception factor and accessibility factor.According to the above strategy,the principles and strategies of public space design in colleges and universities based on interaction behavior can be obtained.To evaluate and evaluate the proposed method,a real example has been evaluated.We selected the external public space of the dormitory area of Hubei Institute of Fine Arts as our model.In detail,we optimize the design of function,environment and spatial atmosphere to build a suitable place for interaction behavior and improve the quality of space.Based on the above research results,it is believed that this work provides a valuable reference for the subsequent future design,and will play an important role in the study of public space in colleges and universities with regards to the quality of students’ campus life.
