| In the modern transformation period of Chinese architecture,there are a large number of talents with engineering background in the team of architects,and the proportion of them in the early construction industry even exceeds that of technical talents with architectural education background.This is a Chinese phenomenon produced in a specific background and era.Under this background,this thesis conducts a genealogical study on the first generation of architects with engineering background in China.As a transition entity between the traditional craftsmen and architects with architectural background,they are not only the pioneers of the architecture industry,but also undertake a lot of basic work in practice,which plays an important role in promoting the development of society and the industry.Their special professional background also makes their career path different from that of ordinary architects.Therefore,it is requisite to analysis this group.The research is not only a useful supplement to the study of the group of modern Chinese architects,but also helps to show the particularity and diversity of the development of modern Chinese architecture.This thesis is divided into 6 chapters: Chapter I is a preface;Chapter II analyzes the social and professional environment that promoted the emergence of architects with engineering backgrounds;Chapter III summarizes the group’s overall situation in modern times.Chapter IV focuses on the architectural practice of the architects,and then analyzes their architectural concepts;Chapter V analyzes the representative characters among these architects,including Hua Nangui,Sun Zhixia,Li Pan,Li Yingnian,and Yang Kuanlin,for key analysis,focusing on the analysis of practice clues and their characteristics.Chapter VI summarizes the status,contribution and characteristics of architects with engineering background,and reflects on the current status of the industry.The full text is about 68,000 words,61 pictures and 17 tables. |
