With the continuous development of social economy and scientific and technological forces,BIM technology,as an emerging technology that has led architectural digital technology to a higher level in recent years,has been gradually increasing in various fields in our country.The powerful 3D modeling and integrated information management capabilities of BIM technology,the dynamic,real-time update and visualization characteristics of the design process are more obvious than traditional technology advantages,and the application of BIM technology for design has become a future development trend.However,there are currently few studies on the application of BIM technology in the design of retaining structures.In order to provide new ideas and directions for the design of retaining structures,verify the feasibility of its application,and provide references for relevant practitioners,it is necessary to Research on technology application in retaining structure.In this paper,combined with the investigation of relevant domestic and foreign documents,the application method of BIM technology in the design of retaining structures is systematically studied,and the feasibility verification is carried out with actual engineering examples.The main research results and conclusions are as follows:(1)In-depth explanation of the concept of BIM technology,analysis and summary of the application characteristics of BIM technology with visualization,collaboration,flexible optimization,simulation and informationization,introduces and compares and analyzes the commonly used BIM software,and selects suitable BIM software for supporting structure design for this time.(2)Research the design method of retaining structure using BIM technology,create three-dimensional terrain surface,and use Civil3 D software for road horizontal and vertical line design and cross-section assembly design,create road model;on this basis,focus on the secondary development based on BIM,Proposed a parametric and visual design method for retaining walls based on Subassembly Composer and VB programming language,created oblique,counterweight and cantilever retaining wall BIM models to complete the assembly of the retaining wall.(3)The application analysis of BIM technology combined with engineering examples verifies the feasibility of applying BIM technology to the design of retaining structures.(4)The application of BIM technology is summarized and analyzed,compared with traditional two-dimensional technology,the differences and advantages of BIM technology are put forward,and the difficulties in applying BIM technology at this stage are further analyzed.
