Study On The Development Mechanism Of Urbanization In Suzhou From The Perspective Of Scale Reconstruction

Since the reform and opening up,China has experienced a large-scale rapid urbanization process,which is obviously dominated by the government.Scale reconstruction has become an important operation means to promote the urbanization strategy in many regions.From the perspective of academic circles,there has been a "scale shift" in urbanization research related fields,and scale theory provides a new perspective and direction for urbanization research.As a pioneer in China’s urbanization development,Suzhou has a variety of scale reconstruction strategies,which are interwoven with population,economy,system and other factors,to promote the level of urbanization,and has accumulated many successful experiences.Taking the changes of spatial scale selection in different urbanization stages of Suzhou as the breakthrough point,this thesis mainly probes into the influences which different types of scale reconstruction strategy give on the Suzhou urbanization development mechanism,discusses the effect mechanism of scale reconstruction as driving force,predicts the changes of situation in new stage of Suzhou urbanization development and puts forward the corresponding strategies of reconstruction.Firstly,based on the research on the connotation,types of scale reconstruction and urbanization development mechanism,the thesis constructs the analytical framework of "scale reconstruction and urbanization development mechanism of Suzhou" through the analysis of the relationship between scale reconstruction and urbanization development mechanism.The relationship between scale reconstruction and urbanization development mechanism is analyzed,and the analytical framework of "scale reconstruction and urbanization development mechanism of Suzhou" is constructed.The study finds that scale reconstruction changed the agglomeration of urbanization development resources,and thus affected the mechanism of urbanization.Besides,there is a periodical coupling relationship between the urbanization of Suzhou and scale refactoring type: the scale of village level moving down in small town leading stage,the scale of cities and counties level moving up in the city expansion stage and the multi-reconstruction at the regional level in urban-rural coordination stage.Secondly,the analysis on the three different phases of scale reconstruction in Suzhou finds that accompanied by the moving up and down in different scale of villages and towns,cities and counties and regional level,the urbanization of Suzhou reaches to the nonagricultural transformation and development of small towns,transformation from inner-city to city periphery and city expansion,and more than a transfer and urban-rural coordinated development step by step.Suzhou urbanization development mechanism realizes the migration of citizens changing from nearby areas to interregional areas,economic pattern changing from the villages and towns economy,extroversion economy to collaboration economy and institutional factors changing from rural reform,city reform to urban-rural integration development.The scale reconstruction constantly changes the agglomeration of power,capital,land and other resources,which strengthens the development and implementation of different mechanism elements and then promote the urbanization development of Suzhou.Finally,based on the analysis of the situation of Suzhou new development stage of urbanization,the thesis summarizes motivation or direction of the future urbanization development,and puts forward that the strategy of Suzhou scale refactor in new phase should assess the scale reconstruction utility objectively and the launch of diversified scale reconstruction should focuses on the goal of coordination,integration,innovation and high quality: promoting urban and rural integration by moving down the scale level of village and small towns,strengthening regional integration by moving up the scale of regional level,and improving the urban quality and urbanization quality by reorganizing space at the city level.
