| At the turn of the century,as a developing country,China has entered society with an aging population ahead of schedule.China has formulated a series of normative systems and safeguards measures, but the focus of these studies is based towards urban areas. However, not only the number of the elderly population but also the degree and speed of aging in rural areas has exceeded those in cities from the perspective of the urban-rural standard of Chinese elderly population. The problem of aging in rural areas is more serious than in cities. The existing supporting facilities and service systems for the elderly in rural areas are far from being able to meet the needs of the elderly care in rural areas,of which the problem demands to be studied and resolved urgently in rural areas. At the same time,home-based care has always been the main old-age care model in rural areas, but there are still situations where are unsuited to the aged in real life. Therefore, from a practical point of view,it is urgent to be engaged in elderly-oriented living spaces design based on the actual needs of the rural elderly in life.Living space is defined as the place where people’s various behaviors take place, and also the space to respond to the needs through the previous literature research and collation. It is not appropriate to separate production and life in rural society. The rural elderly,as the main group of countryside communities, are still engaged in labor. In the existing research on the types of living space, the classification of living space is relatively rough.Rural social living spaces are divided into three types: living space, communication space, and workspace on the basis of different functions. The living space of the elderly in rural areas is divided into three types: living, communication, and workspace through the research and arrangement of the previous literature data.Taking the living space of the elderly in the rural area of Quanjiaohe Town,as the research object,is observed and recorded for activities and venues of the rural elderly in their daily lives through field investigation. The three types of living spaces of rural elderly are subdivided, based on the activities of rural elderly — the living space includes bedrooms and kitchens, washrooms, the communication space includes halls and sun lounges and the work space includes courtyards and farmland. This paper analyzes the processes of daily behaviors of the rural elderly in different spaces based on distribution characteristics of daily behaviors in time and space, after which introduces the concept of action logic, and analyzes the demands of space for rural elderly from a new perspective by restoring the key action steps when they have a certain behavior and drawing flow charts of these behaviors. The living space is divided into types for the actual surveying and mapping of typical rural elderly living space cases.According to the different characteristics of space, the types of rural living space are further refined,in which the bedrooms are divided into symmetrical and balanced types, the kitchens are divided into U-shaped and L-shaped,the washrooms are classified into the folding type and dual-purpose type, the main rooms are divided into penetrating and non-penetrating types, and the courtyards are divided into enclosed and semi-enclosed types. On this basis,a design strategy suitable for aging is proposed for the physical environment, spatial layout, and spatial scale of different types of living spaces.According to the relations between action logic and space demands of the rural elderly, this paper clarifies the current conditions and existing problems of living spaces. On this basis, according to different types of living space, the elderly-oriented design strategy is put forward in the aspects of the physical environment, layout combination, and spatial scale.Based on the action logic of the rural elderly, this paper analyzes the space demand of the rural elderly, and the Elderly-oriented design, which can create the living conditions they need,to make the living space design of the rural elderly more mature. In addition, this study is devoted to accumulating some experiences and methods for the design of rural elderly living spaces in other places, and promote the sustainable development of rural elderly care. |
