| With the development of the world economy, the high-density urban environment in humid and hot regions compresses people’s activity space, and the shared space represented by the shared atrium ushers in a large number of construction demands;the tight land resources, heat island effect, excessive energy consumption and the lack of humanized places are common problems in contemporary cities in humid and hot regions, and the shared atrium space plays an important role in connecting cities, climate buffering and people’s public interaction Therefore, ecological design aiming to deal with the relationship between people and the environment is an important direction for the design of shared atrium space in public buildings in hot and humid regions, and it has practical reference significance for the spatial quality improvement of the first developed cities in hot and humid regions, including the GuangdongHong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in China.Based on this paper,we propose the ecological goals of shared atrium space design in hot and humid regions by combining the theories of current ecological research: integrating into the urban environment, adapting to hot and humid climate, and creating ecological experience;then we analyze and summarize the design thinking of practicing architects and typical cases in hot and humid regions.Through the analysis and summary of the design thinking of practicing architects and typical cases in humid and hot areas, the corresponding ecological design principles are summarized in terms of adaptability, integration, compounding, habitat, experience and humanization.Based on the analysis of phenomena, theoretical inspiration and practical exploration, the framework of ecological strategies for the design of shared atrium spaces in public buildings in humid and hot regions is constructed, including three strategy groups of spatial organization for environmental integration, spatial regulation for climate adaptation and spatial experience for habitat creation, and specific strategies are developed to deal with the problems of tight land resources, huge building energy consumption and missing ecological experience. Finally,we expand the discussion on the ecological design of shared atriums for public buildings in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area with our own practice, and offer an outlook on the future development of shared atriums for public buildings in humid and hot regions. |
